Lin Dan was at the Li Ning shop in Hong Kong during the East Asian Games, promoting Li Ning badminton equipment. Also present was Lin Dan's and the Chinese team's stringer. My son visited the shop early December and couldn't resist getting a Flame N55 strung by the personal stringer of Lin Dan's racquets. The N55 is a pretty good racquet but not so much from the materials used. It uses size for power but at the expense of speed. It is perhaps the "fattest" racquet-and all "fat" racquets are specifically built for power-I have ever used. Its cross-section is at least 10% larger than what I would have preferred but that would mean having to use better and more expensive materials.

I hate lining strings, somehow I find the contact point and the hitting sound isnt quite there yet though they are durable. I still think the yonex BG 80 and 85 beats it.

Yeah I think so too, like there is a significant difference.

I'm wondering if the Chinese players actually use Li ning strings..

Wrong choice bro, u should use only 2 type of string : AP 70 and AP101N.

Lin dan used AP 70 which is equivalent to yonex BG 65 ..i ualso used it too

The china team players use AP101N.

ah ic. Is the accupower 90 the lower end products of the lining strings? I think its quite expensive compared to yonex strings.

Did Lin Dan's personal stringer string any differently than "less elite" stringers?

The quality of the stringing is first class except for the incorrect use of the starting cross knot. The labor cost of the stringing alone is 150% of the total cost of stringing a Yonex BG80 in Hong Kong. In addition the cost of the string is about twice the cost of a Yonex BG65.
