It's been a while since I've seen yellow colored feather shuttles. I think it would help with visibility during practice if they had more of these available. Then again, I guess I haven't really been looking around much and that could be why I haven't seen them in years. anyone know where to get different colored feather shuttles that are decent quality for practice?
Badminton Alley has HL brand yellow Goose feather shuttle tube for $19.95.. Here's another one: http://ebadminton.stores.yahoo.net/colbadfeatsh.html They hv a tube for $12.95..I hv tried these a while back and they r alright but then again for that amount what can u expect!!
Yellow coloured plastic shuttles are still around. Yonex's shuttles such as the Mavis 350 are available in yellow (although I'm not sure that the Mavis 2000s are). Carlton's F1 shuttles are also available in yellow. EDIT: Nightbird, I've never seen coloured feather shuttles before. EDIT 2: Thread reading fail, OP was looking for coloured feather shuttles - I should just give up on this post before I discover more fail in it.
Surprisingly, they exist and I hv used them in the past EDIT: Nightbird, I've never seen coloured feather shuttles before. EDIT 2: Thread reading fail, OP was looking for coloured feather shuttles - I should just give up on this post before I discover more fail in it.[/quote]
as for quality of those yellow ones.. how's the flight and durability in comparison to other regular feather shuttles? (that is pretty cheap and i expect durability to be low) ..would u say it is ok for practice at all? does it fly differently than non-colored?
I have not tried their colored ones, but their regular birdie is fairly decent. The genji champion grade birdie usually last 2-3x longer than victor gold-1.
It is an Ok bird..not much durable though..Flight is decent..It is certainly more than ok for practice and economical too!! It wudn't hurt trying for that price..
wow, very ancient! Thanks... was fun to read. blue, green, black, and the common yellow. Also am clearer on what the color 'bands' on the shuttles mean now! SPEED! now i don't have to be like this anymore about that stuff.
if you guys don't mind black feather shuttle, i think DHS 311 is durable. they are not using some cheap feather. in face, they are using A grade feather from black goose. i guess black goose feather is much cheaper than the white one, due to supply and demand. as a result of that the shuttle is cheap and quality is good.
what about a black one haha http://cgi.ebay.com.au/24-Badminton...em&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item45f3427e12
If you go to my facebook page or the one for Strathmore Open badminton, I've got photos of how I dye my own shuttles. You can do al kinds of freaky colors, This year I had bright red, blue and purple. Be forewarned, the black dye can make the shuttle slightly brittle over time - you have to keep them really hydrated ( I live in a very dry, high elevation, so we have steam out shuttles)
