I am looking for a string which is very Powerful for Smashing and produces a "PARP" sound upon impact. The "Parp" sound sounds like a mini explosion.
Does BG-85 produces the "POP" sound ? I have heard that BG-66 produces the "POP" sound as well. So, comparing BG-66 and BG-85, which one produces a louder "POP", with power ?
If you're got the money, I'd go with Yonex Nanogy 98. If not, either BG-80 or BG-85 would also fit your criteria (although they're not as durable as NBG-98).
The BG66 Maxima currently has the highest [Yonex approved] rating on impact sound.... And also second to none repulsion properties due to its 0.65mm diameter.
Titanium strings by Yonex make very good explosive sounds, good enough to startle players on other courts.
You can always try bringing an airhorn in, and pressing it whenever you hit the shuttle to generate the PARPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP effect.
Were you referring to plastic or feather birds? The sound produced depends on the type of birds used. For plastic, the BG65 gives a very nice pop sound but BG80 might produced good pop for feathers.
remind me of airsoft gun. People would put a noise amplifier on the muzzle for better bang bang sound.
Both my rackets on BG80 and BG66 give a pretty impressive pop when I hit the sweetspot even on a wrist shot. They are both medium tension 28 and 26 lbs respectively. Still, I wonder how fun if there is a string that is completely silent -- the opponent may be caught off guard.
BG80 28lbs!!!!medium tension???!!! I play at 24lbs bg66. It gives me the parrrrp sound if i am able to hit the sweetspot.
I think the pop sound also has to do with the indoor environment and how soft the string type is IMHO. 26 and 28lbs are not medium tension my friend ;-) Medium is about 23lbs since most manufacturers recommend the max of 26lbs.
Don't rely too much on products to do it for you. The main part of it is dependent on the technique of the player.
Just tape a piece of cellophane on the strings. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43960
Forgot to substantiate. BG80 does its initial lose tension quite fast (in a matter of days) and I am too cheap to restring too frequently (usually 3-4 months between restrings). So it's only 28lbs initial but after that it's anybody's guess. Sgbad does not "if I'm able to hit the sweetspot". Sgbad always "hit the sweetspot" and floor his opponents. But the minimum tension for my current go to racket is 28lbs...
If i string my racquet with Nanogy98 @ 28lbs, and play frequently, how low will my tension drop before it stops ? Will it drop lower than 24lbs ?
