Yup, I heard. Personally I hate the taste though. Indulging in my favorite national past-time: complaining.

According to IBF calendar, the JVC Asian Championship will be held in Bangkok Nov 12-17, 2002. Then another Asian Championship in April 20, 2003. Are these two the same ?

Believe it or not, the ABC site actually

says that Sonny Dwi bt Chen Hong and is to meet Taufik in final.

If so Sonny Dwi has even overtaken Bao and Lin Dan.

Yesterday the site stated that Zhou Mi lost to Xiao LuXi of Singapore bt today

it says Zhou Mi won 0 and 1.

Yeah, that was surprising. I am hoping it is a typo. Yesterday when I saw Zhou Mi lost, I went "off the ceiling" and then today I check and it shows her winning 11-0, 11-1, LOL.

    Kuncoro

I watched the final between Taufik and Kuncoro. It was kind of boring for the second half of the match. Taufik seemed to "give up" since the beginning of the second game (he was led 10-0!!!). The first game was ok to watch. Inspired Kuncoro tried everything he could do to trouble Taufik. Sideline smashes, drop-shots didn't work well, so he (Kuncoro) tried to smash right at Taufik's body and IT WORKED! And Kuncoro used that to raise the points in the second game til he won. Anyway, it's good to see that Taufik's backhand smash is as strong as his forehand smash!

For Ladies' Doubles, both players (Zhang Ning and Zhou Mi) showed a brilliant match. There were not many unforced errors from both players. Zhang Ning had a lot of tricky shots and played more intelligently. However, it seemed Zhang Ning was tired and appararently not fit enough for the three-game match against the MIGHTY Zhou Mi. At the end, Zhou Mi raised her speed for the last points and finally won.

See Taufik's loss to Polsana in Asian Cup last year and to Lee TS in Thomas cup.
Both matches had a lot of shots played to the centre line of the court.

Maybe this is Taufik's weakness in his impressive armoury of skills.

Who is this Sony Dwi Kuncoro? He beated Chen Hong and then Taufik Hidayat, and the score wasn't even close. Sound like a future star.
