There are so many brands out there and so less reviews and experiances. Even if one was to choose a different path from the usual Yonex, they wouldn't know where to turn to. There are so many models and choices and uncertainties that comes with them. SOTX, Wilson, Apacs, Kason and many other brands confuse people when they want to stop using Yonex and choose a more affordable way to enjoy badminton. So my question is, which of these brands produce the better quality rackets that have actual performance gains over the others (maybe from using better materials or better technology)?
Well I have not tried all but.. Wilson raquets were having advanced and comparable good products. Wilson K factor series. I had one K Tour which is heavy head best for singles.I have strung it with BG66 --28lbs.Its feel great and have good control also . and top of that its comes in genuine price also..
Thanks for your opinion anew. Have you played with other rackets that you can compare this racket to? I play with AT700 and AT900P from yonex, not sure how they measure side by side.
I personally use SOTX, and it's one of the greatest brands i've used...a friend of mine really likes apacs...and we're using these brands that are virtually unknown in Ottawa...
I'm thinking of either Apac's Tantrum 200 or Lethal 50 or 60, but there arent many specific reviews done on them or comparison to the AT700.
Since you mentioned Kason in your thread title, I'll chip in (better late than never) with advice for you to try the Kason TSF300A. The top end Kason's are fantastic rackets. The 'high' technology (for what it's worth ;-) ) that you talk about is there - ultra-thin graphite fibre, for instance. The 300A is an attacking beast that's not too difficult to defend with. The 300D (my 'go-to' racket) is aimed at more defensive style of play, but still packs a punch when needed - I'm SOOO impressed with this racket. Take my advice, these rackets should not be overlooked.
i like: head heavy, light shaft, handle doesn't matter 3u rackets i like at700 more than at900p because the shaft is heavy on the at900p which feels harder to handle than at700 old version since both lethal 50 and tantrum 200 are close to those specs im interested. just wondering how it feels compared to at700
I agree on SOTX. I have woven 9 and 13. Great rackets. I also have a few Apacs as well, including the tantrum 200. But that doesn't compare to the feel of SOTX.
I agree, but it's probably due to the different brands...My old yonex ones don't compare to my SOTX rackets, and my friend's apacs "triforce" racket i don't like the feeling at all, even though the specs are almost identical to some SOTX rackets...the feeling just isn't there...or maybe it's more of a psychological thing
Vincent604, Whenever possible, I recommend trying out different rackets before making the purchase. I bought a few rackets that I heard or read was good but disappointed after buying. Maybe take notice of others' rackets and see if they let you take a few swings with it. I haven't had any regrets yet for the rackets I bought after hands on testing.
For me Wilson K Tour is faster than Sotx Woven 7 and Kason TSF 300A. Easy to use. Sotx Woven 7 & Kason TSF 300A is more powerful. But i love the feeling of Woven 7. TSF 300A is most beautiful. APACS Lethal 70 is head heavy and very stiff. It may similar to AP700 (also the cosmetic). But I have not tried it.
Sotx woven 13 specs: http://www.sotxsports.com/home/index.php?act=product&abid=192 Compared to Sotx woven 9, it's head heavier. It's meant to be used as a singles racket. The touch of the woven 13 is fantastic. There is very little adjustment needed to get used to it. I sometimes use it in doubles games. But it's not as quick as the woven 9.
What about Diamond Fighter Series compare to Woven? What is the difference? I have this racket in final: Kason 300d (300a I guess is more stiff hard to use) SOTX Woven 9 Apacs VH 1800, Tantrum200 Can anybody give some feedback.
Is Sotx W-9 good enough for powerful single game. I like it because it is light and head heavy a little bit. I also like D-900 but it is a different compare to W-9.
I tried the new series of Wilson recently at a demo day, wasn't too impressed as they are not very stiff. It could also be due to the string/tension combination as it came with factory strings.
Dunlop Aerogel Series Dunlop Aerogel 2000 is one of the best Stiff Slight Head Heavy Length - 675mm Strung Weight - 89gm String Tension - 25lb - BG80 Power - 10 Control -10
