World Ranking should be the hottest topic when we talk about professional players, it should be the most important topic also. Since there is no such thread yet  I am creating this one.

Although I have a lot of complains about BWF's ranking, I saw they published their web ranking page today the first time since many many months ago their database was down. So, they should get an applause for that even though it's long time overdued. Here is the new ranking page:

    http://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/ranking/ranking.aspx?rid=70

    please enjoy.

    It's about time..

..looks like they've figured out another way to show the WR. However, i wonder if they still need to update the pts manually or it'll be updated automatically (through soome kind of programming)??..

Here's a thread which discusses abt the current BWF ranking system:
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75692
..on which part of the ranking??..

wow, Sandy, you are the man!

ctjcad, are you sure BWF calculating the ranking manually? Unbelievable!

That may explain why they have to wait 4 day, until Thursday, to release the ranking. If automatically, it should be released just after each tournament on the night of Sunday.

    That's just my hunch..

..i don't know. I can only assume they updated their WR manually. Meaning:
    1. They probably had all the WR database in an Excel format and they would input in all the pts manually, after each tourney.
    2. Then the Excel file will calculate the total.
    3. And finally, they would, again, manually input in the updated total pts. in the html file.

As for the new format, I don't know how they would do it.
