I was always wondering ? have any of you ever (when you were beginners) had the fear of the smash. Like when someone SMASHES REALLY REALLY hard on you and you just run away from it ? My friends say that if you dont overcome it, then you will never be able to play good badminton. How can i overcome this. its like everytime i play with someone in my grade or higher and they SMASH hard i always run away /.:crying: im starting to think i should stop playing badminton, and i right now feel like a wimp:(

easiest way is have someone with a solid smash play an attack/defense drill with you. Your on the defense and they are on the attack.

Constant smashing and attacking play will get you over your fear quite quickly.
More or less just man up lol its only a shuttle.

Just curious, why do you run away? Coz I may do that if my opponent do jumping smash near by the net... :D

have someone practise smashes to you so you get used to the speed. Hold your racquet in front away from you to retrieve the smashes.
