thanks for the info ..... a local person would really help a lot since they would know the ins-and-outs .... but i'm just curious as to why krizlid98 mentioned that JB isn't a safe place .... any idea? .... i just want to get back in one-piece ...
also, is a visa needed to enter singapore or malaysia if one is staying for 1-2 weeks only?? thanks again.

- JB should be a safe place. Just don't go & travel around all decked out with fancy jewelries.
- Language could be a bit of an issue. But the hotel personnel should be able to assist you. Overall, M'sians and S'poreans should be able to communicate with you. Do you speak English only? or other language as well, such as cantonese or mandarin?
- As for U.S. citizen (i assume you are a U.S. citizen) needing a visa to enter, no, you don't need a visa to enter M'sia and/or S'pore. I've traveled to both countries before and all i did was flash my U.S. passport to the custom gentlemen and gentlewomen, and they just stamped & passed me through. I believe the current time frame of stay for a foreign visitor is 90 max. days for both S'pore & M'sia.
Btw, do spend a couple of days in S'pore, if you have time.

..ehm, if shreky were a blonde American gal, i'm guessing you'd be the first one to line up and offer some bodyguard assistance..
