I have been stringing for about 2 months now but finding when im stringing at 28-32lbs my knots are always slipping , especially a starting knot for the crosses. I have seen a few videos on youtube:

Is there anything i can do to stop it slipping???

Also when im finishing the mains or crosses i cant seem to pull the slack enough with my knots:

Some advice would be much appreciated

Don't use a starting knot. Usa a starting clamp or any flying clamp to start your cross. Do a parnell to finish it.

Add two pounds at last string before the knot. I use a small stick(a broken racket handle) wrap the string on it to pull the knot, I got almost all the slack out.

Do you mean starting the cross with a clamp then later going back and tying a parnell knot?

like tim said add 2 pounds on the last string
but i'd recommend double half hitch knot
and use arching motion from his other video
    and use a starting clamp
u could use a fly clamp to but it might be a little harder

YULitle's videos are very good indeed but he's definitely a tennis specialist so some of his knots don't apply to us. However, I have found that two of his "bulky" starting knots, with the second done BEHIND the first (i.e. between the first and the frame), will stop even Ash Zymax 62 falling into the grommet.

You can also try threading the top two crosses, tying on, and pulling the second cross only while waggling the top cross (to make sure the friction doesn't stop it pulling properly) - this tightens the top cross sufficiently and minimizes the chances of the knot slipping; the top cross is not integral to hitting so this is fine as long as you've achieved the set tension by the third cross or so.

    Parnell knot rules!
It's compact, the tail lies flat against the frame, and I've never had one slip.
