    Received notice from MSAC regarding: Car Parking as from Monday 05-Oct-2009.

    Hi Chris,

    Commencing October 5th 2009, the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre will be implementing changes to the way the car park operates. The changes will be introduced on October 5th 2009, and will be in full effect by November 2nd 2009.

    What’s new?
    • No 2 hour free parking
    • Temporary tickets are required for ‘pay and display’ in southern car park and oversized car park ($2 per hour)
    • Car park permits for MSAC Club members
    • Maximum parking time for MSAC Club members is increased from 4 to 5 hours
    • Removal of boom gates
    • Cecil Street entry at Albert Rd will be re-opened for access to the southern car park
    • Infringement notices will be issued to vehicles with no current ticket or permit by November 2nd

    What’s not changing...
    • Multi Deck car park will still have boom gates with ticketed and MSAC Club member access
    • MSAC club members will still be permitted to park with a limit of 5 hours

    How it works...
    MSAC Club Members
    • Can park in designated permit areas (as per map)
    • Ensure valid permit is display clearly on car windscreen
    • Stay for a maximum of 5 hours
    Casual users
    • Enter car park
    • Purchase ticket from ticket machines for $2 per hour, maximum of $8 all day parking
    • Display ticket on dashboard of car

    The Blue Permit
    • Issued to all MSAC Club members
    • Blue Permit holders will be permitted to park for free for up to 5 hours in designated BLUE permit zones
    • Parking is available in the Southern Car Park and Multi-Deck Car Park

    The Red Permit
    • Issued to all MSAC Health & Wellness or full Aquatic members
    • Red permit holders will be permitted to park for free for up to 5 hours in all designated permit zones (BLUE and RED)

    How do I collect my permit?
    WHERE? MSAC Help Desk located at Main Reception
    WHEN? From October 5th until November 1st, 2009.
    • The permits will be issued to current members at no cost
    • Permits are a transferable between vehicles
    • There is a maximum limit of one permit per MSAC Club membership.
    • The Permit will be valid for the term of the MSAC Club membership and re-issued annually.
    New members will be issued a permit upon joining MSAC Club.

    Schedule of fees
    • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm at $2 per hour with a maximum of $8 a day
    • All other times, including weekends, $2 flat fee
    You may receive an infringement notice for:
    • Permit vehicles are parked longer than 5 hours
    • Blue permit holders park in the designated red permit area
    • Vehicles with no ticket
    • Vehicles with an expired ticket or permit

    Note: Infringement notices will be issued from November 2nd 2009 in line with the Terms and Conditions of entry.

    We've been seeing parking officers issuing infringement notices to many car owners at MSAC.
    Hope that our CCCer have been following the new 'MSAC Car Parking Rules'

    Thank god, it's still $2 on weekend.

    It means it would still cost $2 to park on wednesday nite, rite?
