Re: grip
A replacement grip is for when you are changing the grip all together. An over grip is just a relatively thin grip that you put over top of the original grip whether it's because it doesn't absorb sweat very well or you want a different texture.

Re: grip
Piece of advise. When you use the racket, always have an overgrip to preseve the orginal stock grip which is on it. You never want to wear that grip out.

Re: grip
Why would you want to do that? Can't you always replace it?

Re: grip
Why not? I guess nearly for all rackets you can change basic grip relatively easy. Personally I had several Carlton grips which I used for 400 blade and there were absolutely no problems.

Re: grip
Well I would say not to change the basic grip because the machine put it on perfectly and when you compare it to hand-placed grip then you sort of see where I'm comming from.

protecting original grips
Hey All,
Do you all believe that it's best to protect the original grip with an overgrip? I just got a Cab 21 G4 and I like the way the handle feels with just the original grip. Since I'm also female, my hands are probably smaller than the average guy playing with the same raquet. I was thinking that I would just replace the original thing once it wears out. Just want to see what your personal preferences are and why. Protect the orignal or who cares it can be replaced if old, or even replaced right away for something better?

no. there is no reason to retain the original grip when it wears out. if a single grip fits your hand size, then by all means take out the old one. but make sure you find something of similar thickness as the original to replace it. most aftermarket replacement grips are fairly thin in comparison.
the original leather like grip on the cab21 is quite nice.
