This thread below was started by myself ages ago and I got a lot of responses from it http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56664 Now my question is of al the people who replied, ave you achieved ur short term goals? I ave indeed, my last short term goal was to beat the 2 best players in my club at singles, I did that last nit, I won 23 - 21 and 21 - 19. I beat the 2 of them on the 1 night which I was amazed at. They are both couple grades above me but I beat them. My proudest moment in badminton .
1/ Im close to national standard. Currently would be placed within the top10 Singles Open grade players in my State. 2/ Footwork, speed and fitness has increased amazingly but still along way to go. 3/ My big smash is back i can aim now just fine tuning the technique to get as much power and angle as possible and work on a high rate of consistancy. 4/ Iv lost 20kgs so double what my short term goal was. 5/ Would be confident i can take out A grade titles in Queensland. Unfortunately theres no individual competitions left until next year so ill have to wait till 2010. LONG TERM 1/ Hopefully this will be achieved when the tournaments begin next year. 2/ Hopefully in 10 months time when nationals are in 2010 i will be strong enough to secure a spot in the State Open Squad. 3/ Might be achieved by the end of 2010 but more looking at 2011. 4/ A dream which only time will tell if it can be achieved
Short Term 1. Get back in shape (lose 15% body fat, drop weight down to 165lbs, increase stamina, increase muscle) 2. Get back footwork, then increase efficiency and speed 3. Get back touch (shot accuracy - net drops, drops) 4. Get back power It's a lot of getting back to my peak and then some. Long Term 1. Increase muscle to help stabilize and protect joints 2. Maybe start playing tournaments again (only when 1 is done)
