just wondering why Yonex racket (most of them) recommended tension range of 20-24lbs? or no more than 24lbs. It seems a bit low as pro player (man single or double) usually string the racket at 30lbs. And they are using Yonex racket too... so far my explanation is Pros don't pay for rackets, so they don't care... is it true? on another hand, HEAD top racket string tension range is at 24-30lbs. Big difference compare to Yonex. anyone know why Yonex only list 20-24lbs?
1) Welcome. Where in US may I ask? 2) Do a search, the topic has been discussed before. It is for warranty purpose and playability. Yonex R&D feel the tension range has best playability for most players. Also, even with a so so stringer and stringing person, if the racquet break under 24 lb, it is a defect for sure.
Thank you for the info. I am From st. louis MO. just a bit hard to search on the forum... btw, do u know if we should always follow the manufacture's recommendation for stringing patterns?
For YY, yes for warranty purpose. However, if it is just 1 piece vs 2 piece, no big deal. PS: I am only about 5 hr away on interstate 55.
so u are in Chicago? we have a double tournament going on sometime next month, u are welcome to join! About string patterns, i just found out the tie off location is different between manufactories. I play with HEAD. the tie off location is different from Yonex...
Could be in IL, could be in CA. Or somewhere in between. Tournament in St Louis? May be if my time allow. Yes, head do have the tie off a little different than YY. Off by 1 I believe... Just follow the manufacture recommended pattern to be on the safe side.
