To Members who break a lot of racquets (excluding Dir DinkALot aka the Killer Panda) I have recently take care of several broken racquets from the Evil Empire. Given most of them are in recommended tension range or just 1 lb over. Here are some things I find. 1) Some miss hits (given that happen between 1 and 2 o'clock location) 2) Very durable string were used. ie BG65 or NBG95. 3) 1 piece stringing method. Given 2 and 3, I would suggest if you do not want to break racquet too often and piss off your sponsor, please use BG80 or thinner string. This way, the string will break before the racquet break. Also, IMHO, 1 piece method will create uneven tension on the frame when string break and the effect will compound after few restringing jobs. These are just my opinions. These are not official Evil Empire guild lines.
Just tell them to use the new Ultra design, of course Panda wants a cut . The racket won't break but the handle might... ...moral of the story, make the handles stronger.
thicker string = more durable and less price. That's main reason people choose it. Other than that is the feeling we get used already to the thick string
Just cause Shuttle House advocates something, doesn't mean it's ideal. I agree with The Silent One, 2-piece stringing is superior and safer, all other things being equal.
Oh my Panda racket... ..just as everyone was exhaling a big sigh of relief, this happens...Hmm, did the handle/racket break on the follow through?? If so, i could imagine the terrified look on Halim's face seeing a racket being hurled straight at him..
Of course, everything breaks on the follow through and the racket just hits the ground each time. Never any danger to anyone except that one time long ago... Halim was not scared at all, he said, "Huhhhh? AHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!! So strong!"
Hey, Panda's are nice and gentle, hence, NGP: Nice, gentle Panda. Back on topic, EE should make the rackets a bit more durable. Panda doesn't mind being the unofficial EE racket tester.
