tried all three strings you mentioned above....for me, the loudest sound still comes from bg66 sharp....i used to buy at $15 per packet from mustafa then pay service charge $4 to string up but now no stock.... so now i go permai in jb to string....they stock the string and it costs about the same after conversion.... p.s. anyone knows which shop stocks bg66 sharp in singapore? thanks....
Go Queensway Shopping Centre. There got many shops like Chau Beng which sells BG 66 Sharp. Got about 3 or more shops that sells it.
k...thanks.... if you haven't tried before, give it a try.....the "PARRPPP!" sound really very solid..... now i'm testing the victor vs-850 nanotec but it's about the same as bg80....the sound not so dor gong.....
The BG66 Sharp has an additional coating material (which is advertised and printed in Japanese which I can't read) compared to the normal BG66. It's also the same material which is on the BG65 Power compared to the normal BG65. From experience at the same tension the material does make the string feels stiffer and when hit hard, produce a louder sound. I think the coating amplifies the resonance of the string which increases the repulsion and also the loudness. The BG66 Sharp is 0.68mm (0.02mm thicker than BG66) to prevent it from feeling too hard/stiff compared to the original BG66's feel I believe. Relatively BG65 Power does feel stiffer (although easier in control and net play to me) than the BG65.
I believe BG 66 MAXIMA (0.65mm) will produce the loudest "PARRRPPP" as it is advertised by Yonex to have 10/10 for repulsion and 10/10 for sound. Too bad BG 66 MAXIMA not released to the market yet
Here's a thought, if you really wanted a "PARRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPP" sound you could always bring in an airhorn, and proceed to make "PARP"s whenever you feel like hearing it. You could also make PARPs when the opponent hits the shuttlecock, just make sure you time it right.
