Yonex shoes gives problem?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone had experienced any foot problems after using the Yonex SHB-92 or any other Yonex shoes?

I've been using Yonex shoes for many years but last year, I've decided to purchase the SHB-92. Since then, my left foot has been giving me painful experience. Pain is on my ball of my foot. Why my left foot? I'm right footed, so I pushed off with my left foot.

Any comments or similar experienced? I wonder if I can get a refund or exchange for a different model?

hmmm interesting, don't own a pair of yonex shoes so I am not sure. I have similar problems before when I was using cross-training shoes for badminton, just not enough shock absorption.

Actually, this pair that gave me problems have more shock absorption then my old ones.

i also own a shb92ex...
for me the problem starts after a few months of purchase when the shoe "expands" sometimes when i lunge my right toes crash with the shoe coz now the shoe is larger...

No such experience here. I have worn 2 pairs before, now wearing the SHB95EX and SHB88.
Perhaps the shoe is not wide enough for you?? Some pple are not suited for certain pairs of shoes. I know SHB92 is one of the "narrowest" pair of Yonex shoes. You should try the SHB95, it's much more comfortable IMO.

No, the shoes are wide enough. I saw the doctor today and he said I overused it. It does felt that it was the shoes that was causing this problem. I'm going to see what other shoes there are and even change my shoes that I wore to work.

I really like those Yonex ones at the Japanese Yonex site. I wonder if they will sell those online. Too bad I don't speak or write Japanese

Maybe you should change the insole.

Anyway, Luxis does sell it online.

Just that you need a credit card! And the shoes aren't cheap!
I believe they've the new Japan models, just that they have not updated their website. You'll have to email them to ask.

AR shoes are not as comfortable, cheaper material and the grip of the sole is VERY BAD, especially if playing on wooden surface. But if your footwork isn't good, eg. you don't really run, lunge forward, change direction quickly, etc. , then probably you won't notice the diference.

SHB shoes has more cushion, uses good material and the grip of the sole is excellent on any badminton court surface.

to add to the confusion,

even among the SHB series there are 2 types. the "EX" version and the japanese version... the japanese models doesnt have any indication eg "shb95low" but for the ex version they have a "ex" at the end, eg "shb95ex"

the japanese shoes are like JP rackets, only available in japan. Shoes like shb88, shb89m do not have any "ex" versions currently.

to sum up.
3 types of yonex shoes:
AR95 (bad)
SHB95ex (medium)
SHB95low (very good)

i think there is a thread on this, when the shb95 was just released...

Although not the same thing, I've written about the problem I get from SHB-95. The carbon sole plate makes the shoe less flexible in some places which gives me problem with my right knee. Maybe it's the plate?
