just watched the video, thx for the link.
basically, ld played like TH style, technique without speed or stamina can't win matches as i have said many times before. CHJ was clearly the fitter player but with poorer technique. Now i know how to paw CHJ next time. Summary: CHJ is no PSH or LHI rookie. I doubt CHJ would make much improvement, he seem more suited for doubles playing

i watched the video as well
coz seldom we see LD lost
anyway LD defence is weak, maybe playing CHJ first time and
CHJ attack is quite counter-attack type....and LD is caught
a few times, of coz some over-confident at the start of the game..
after the questionable line call in 2nd set, LD loss focus and it
    costs him 4 points dearly...
anyway, next meeting LD should win over CHJ...

However good & talented a player is, if he is not well prepared and focussed,
he will still get beaten. LD may not be playing in a no. of SS but that doesn't
mean he's busy training all the time. Commitments to endorsements &
commercials come with sacrifices...see the attached.

After watching the final match btw LD and CHJ:

    From LD's standpoint:
    - he looked having some concerns on his mind or thinking other things
    - he spilled a lot of sweats; not sure it's from the "tiredness" from the previous matches or from the very match against CHJ.
    - he made many unforced errors and could not found many attack chances - not sure this is from the "tiredness" or because CHJ actually "forced" him.

    From CHJ's standpoint:
    - he is a good known player in KOR, even though he entered the National Team just this summer
    - he is a southpaw like LHI (I have seen that LD feels some difficulties with the left-handed from other countries.)
    - he belongs to the same regional team with SSM and LHI - the powerhouse of world-class MS players in KOR.
    - he was in great form and with better stamina just having finished his military services in Sports Team.

Above of all, his strategy against LD was correct:

    - CHJ forced LD run around all the court area, esp. rear corners, while forcing him not to play the net play, which is the one of the strongest points of LD.
    - Sudden attacks; actually the sudden jump smashe for the high/driven clears are LD's favorite tactics, but in this match, CHJ showed he was better on this. Look at LD's responses how he was surprised by those unexpected attacks.

However, I doubt that CHJ can make another win over LD next because the stronger players know how to respond it properly from their past experiences.

As for TH, he lost to JP, a player he provided coaching advice to before as well LOL. TH also lost to much lower players several other occasions as well. Let LD lose couple more times to lower players like Choi Ho Jin before u start dancing in the street and handing out bon bon lol.
    ...
If u deniers like to count this lost as official, sure, go ahead. LD lost a match to Choi Ho Jin, still way behind lcw and TH's embarassment losing to much lower players many times, in more serious badminton tournaments.
..wow, if i'm Choi HJ, i would cherish this win and seriously won't look fw to my next meeting w/LD (esp. a fresher LD)..

On a serious note, yes i watched the 1st game and all i'm going to say is give credit to CHJ for showing up and challenging LD and not wilt facing the best MS player in the whole universe. For an unknown player to be in a Final Rd. and give (a tired or not & prepared or not) LD a run for his money, i must say he is not too bad. Despite his lack of pace and speed around the court, his techniques and footwork are pretty good and one thing which surprised me (probably LD) is his ability to clear x-court with his backhand (which he did quite a few times). Racket and shuttle control are also not too bad.
Looking fw to CHJ's matches in the future and his possible rematch with Super Dan..

..that was, imo, a bad call..
Overall, i get the sense that LD was rushing his game a bit. CHJ played with a bit more patience. Good game from both.

well, if i'm Choi HJ i'll make sure i never play LD again to keep my 100% record against one of the legends. lets face it, how many players got a 100% win against LD?

I don't really understand how LCW and TH got into this thread when they were not even competing in this East Asian Games(not part of East Asia too). However, thanks to those over zealous LD's fans who love to sidetrack the other forumers in just about any thread, this doesn't come as a surprise to me. I don't think I seen people talking abt LD in the South East Asian games thread and this is a good sign.

I think Choi Ho Jin did a very good job here despite not being the favourite. However, I think some of the Bcers have gone a little too far by saying that CHJ(Choi) will not go far when he meet LD in the future and LD was just not in the mood of playing in the final game. This act of not giving credits to your idol's opponent for his hard work in final is just unclassy at best. Incidentally, I know that this is just an effect of LD's fanboys-ism and that appears to me to be just a desperate measure to save LD's honour when he was not in his best in the final game.

Lastly, I am interested to see if Ajaib will create another thread in dedication to LD's defeat to a player who was not even in BWF ranking(or at least out of WR# 700).

See the link below for more details on how this come about:

    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...ad.php?t=68189

I think a thread with the title: "The worst reigning Olympic and World Champion ever in badminton history" will be nice. I hope Ajaib will be fair enough to ceate a thread like this so that others won't accuse him for being biased against LCW.

P/S: The lesson I learn from this is 得饶人处且饶人(rough translation: an idiom asking a person to be more forgiving even though he/she is at a better position than others). Anyway, good luck to both CHJ and LD in their future tournaments.

All this in reply to all the bashings LCW gets whenever he loses to lower ranking players & the fans getting critised when give reason/excuse for LCW losing.
So, finally the great LD also got lose to much lower rank player(he broke the record for this one), also give tiredness as reason.

LD lost fair and square to the Korean player.
This goes to show that a rookie can win when the best player is off form.
