hi I have purchased the above grip purely to try out some different grips and sizes Has anyone used this grip I will post a review on friday after training
ok guys heres some more background information regarding the grip and the immienent review Racket used: yonex nanospeed 9900 Strings used: yonex BG65 ti Tension of strings: 21 lbs Comparing to grips used in the past : yonex 102ex supergrap, yonex 402 towel grip G
the grip is on the racket and i must say the stricking yellow goes nicely with the paintwork of the ns9900 Look out for the review at about 10:30 UK time (about 4:30PM on the BC clock)
review ok guys here it goes The grip is a replacement grip however it can be used as an overgrip. I used it as a replacement however. The grip is thick, probaly the same thickness as the karakal PU grips. When griped the "ripple" effect feels really nice . Game time When using this grip i felt i had extra control of where i was putting the shuttle. The b the ripple in the grip feels really good and it allows you to grip the racket the way you want to allowing you to have the best hold on the racket possible Heres my rating after 3 hours play Comfort: N/10 Control of shuttle 10/10 Sweat absorbtion :10/10 Durability (so far) 10/10 (the colour has not faded at all )
update: I have played a tournament tofmday with this grip and it was very comfortable I don't know if this has anything to do with the grip but since changing to this grip I have won 16 double matches in a row and haven't lost a doubles match including today in a team tournament where we won our division Overall it suits me perfectly
this grip is fantastic !!!!!!!!!!! Durabiliity is fantastic as well no signs of damage or splits in the grip it absorbs sweat really well overall I am really pleased
It is a very comfortable grip. Karakal grips just preform great. The ripple and Super PU grips are probable the best available for replacement grips. Never had an issue with either.
but at roughly twice the cost of 'normal' PU spergrip, what could be the advantage? Does it last that much longer? I'm a fan of karakal grips, but it's not cheap stuff...
nope in UK it isn't twice the price of "normal" pu grips here the karakal PU grip is £2 and for the ripple it is £3 it lasts really long I think as the colour hasn't really faded and there is no cuts or visible damage to the grip so far after about a months playing 7 hours a week
