I'm torn between buying NS8000 (old color) or TI-10 (purple). As NS8000 (red/yellow hint on silver) is already replaced by the gold/black NS8000, I am thinking of getting the old color one (production date 2006) for collecting.
On the other hand, purple Ti-10 is also intriguing. They are still produced in 2009 (Asia region only). But I heard that Ti-10 is soon to be discontinued.
    What do you guys think?

get the ns8000 since its already gone, theres plenty of ti-10s to go around right now and many for you to buy off of people later on.

why Ti 10 3rd Gen (purple)?

still under production, cannot be classified as "collector's" item yet :D

Ti 10 2nd Gen stopped production but you can still get it in the market IF you were lucky enough

Ti 10 1st Gen already become a "legend" no need introduction anymore

in this case, better get the NS 8000 old colour ;)

Thanks guys, I will go for the NS8000. On the quality, it is still in mint condition as they are sold in an upscale mall.
As both are stiff and headlight. How about performance difference between the 2?

if i said NS 8000 not as good as Ti 10, then would you consider to "collect" Ti 10 instead of NS 8000? :p

since you just wanna collect, i think performance is not a concern for you :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Ti-10 (2nd/3rd gen) aren't headlight. I know it says that but its certainly not headlight. Its only 'headlighter' than the 1st gen in my opinion.

@yonexman. I know you love Ti-10. I think you have 5 of them.

Anyway, I have 1 Ti-10 already. I love it. However, I am tempted by the NS8000 as I cannot find the old color anywhere else except this place. They only have 1 or 2 left. Also the 30% special discount doesn't hurt either ;)
Of course I'm planning to use it someday (when they are very rare :p)

@ryim - my purple Ti-10 balance point is 285cm (w/o string and overgrip), i think it is even balance.

the ns8000 seems to be defensive only when i play with it, but with my ti-10 i get everything out of it, power speed and control. but thats only my take on the ns8000 i dont own one but i've tried it a few times.

I used to have the Gold NS8000.
NS8000 is probably slightly better in defensive game whereas Ti-10 may be slightly better in offense, but overall pretty much the even in terms of performance.
Actually both are x-stiff acording to Yonex.

@smichz - thanks for the offer, I've just bought the NS8000. Love the cool silvery paintwork.
I just measured the balance point, it is about 283cm. Definitely head lighter than the 3rd gen.

    285 is definitely even balance.

I think (now this is just me)

    270-280 = headlight
    280-290 = balance
    290-300 = head heavy

ofcouse if you have something in the 290 exact, i would actually put it as slightly head heavy.
