Copenhagen Masters - A time of expectations, comfort, tradition and good experiences
This international badminton tournament at the Falconer Hall sees the world's finest players doing battle in four categories: ladies singles, men's singles, men's doubles and mixdoubles. The action takes place on just one court and the spectators are seated on three sides, just two metres from the action, so they are guaranteed a lively show.
Copenhagen Masters started in 1982, it was then named Scandinavian Masters and was held in the Circus Building in Copenhagen. Later the tournament was named Copenhagen Masters. The tournament has since 2004 been held in the Falconer Hall in Frederiksberg.
The concept behind Copenhagen Masters was developed after a visit to London where a similar tournament were played in Albert Hall.
Copenhagen Masters has always been held during the last days of Christmas. The tournament has always been very popular and attracted, the first year around 2200 people visited.
Through all the years there has only been played on one court, wich gives an intimate atmosphere where the audience sit very close to the matches and players.
The idea behind the Copenhagen Masters has always been to gather some of the world's best players and give the audience a fantastic experience with world-class badminton"
