    Thumbs up Adnan Fauzi!!!!

    This guy played four matches yeasterday, winning all of them in straight games. - two MS, one MD and one XD.
    True, not all of the opponents are what we call world class, but still, winning four matches in a day require enormous stamina.
    I think I will become his fan.
    GO Fauzi, just three matches today - win them all !!!!!

    Can anybody direct me to information about him. How old is he? What is his best performance till date? etc.

    ..he started as a Singles specialist, made his mini splash in 2005-2006, but never really showed his true potential...you can read a bit of info abt Fauzi Adnan here (post #18):

    He has won two out of three matches today. However the third one seems to be hard since he will face the first seed Anand Chetan. We'll see who will win in the end.

    2nd game: 14-6->18-12->21-19
    3rd game: 12-4->18-13->21-14

    Interesting matches tomorrow:

    MS QF
    Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [3] vs Gurusaidatt R.M.V. [8] - a tricky test for Andre and I hope he can beat the rising IND youngster.

    Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka [5] vs P. Kashyap [4] - another tough test for Hayom. Let's see if he can beat the IND player.

    MD QF
    Adnan Fauzi/Tri Kusumawardana vs Mohammad Rreza Kheradmandi/Ali Shahhosseini [3] - Fauzi can concentrate on winning a title in either MD or XD.

    WS QF
    Saina Nehwal [1] vs Fransiska Ratnasari [5] - Nana fulfills her seeding as expected and she will entertain the top-seed. It will be a major boost to her confidence if she can beat Saina.

    Sindhu P.V. vs Maria Febe Kusumastuti [2] - Febe to go through to the SF.

    WD QF
    Aparna Balan/Shruti Kurian [1] vs Nadya Melati/Devi Tika Permatasari - a tough test for Nadya/Devi. If they can beat the top-seed, they have a high chance of winning the title.

    XD QF
    Abantika Deka/Dibyajoti Bora vs Adnan Fauzi/Devi Tika Permatasari - shouldn't be a problem for the INA pair.

    Default Saina, Chetan in quarters at Syed Modi

    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/s...ow/5348693.cms

    However, the biggest upset of the day was the shocking 21-15, 19-21, 14-21 defeat of Arvind at the hands of Malaysian Kwong Beng Chan in an hour long match.

    In a match that had 111 rallies, Arvind squandered a first game lead and then found the going tough against the Malaysian, who held nerve at crucial junctures to emerge as victorious.

    Unhappy UPBA not learning lessons from past

    Now when the UPBA and the state government are organising the Syed Modi International Grand Prix Badminton tournament, which is again an international event featuring foreign shuttlers, power failures occurred once again. And that too during the inaugural ceremony. Power tripped thrice and the main hall, where the Indian and foreign players besides some top government officials were present for the ceremony, plunged into darkness for almost half-an-hour.
