hi, I am currently want to lose some weight so that I can become more active and quick in my badminton games. Can anyone give suggestion on the ideal diet for a badminton player? Thank you.
As with any athlete, lots of veggies, fish, pasta (not too much) and some white meat, keep red meat to a minimum. Fish is especially great in that they are high in protiens and vitamens but very low fat.
drink lots of water... don't overeat... cut out on refined and chemically laden foods... eat lots of green leafy vegetables... get your fats and oils from nuts and not from kfc...
If you only want to lose weight and nothing else at the moment, then eat as much protein as possible and cut carbohydrates as much as possible (fat doesn't matter either way). This will automatically cut your calorie intake as it makes you very full/saturated quickly, while still giving your muscles enough to regenerate etc. Eat until you're satisfied, don't hunger and don't overeat. Drink a lot.
do high intensity interval training, combined with light weight training, and cardio workouts also focus on plyometrics when doing exercises combining with the following diet: lots of fibrous foods (vegetables, salads, etc) protein (eggs, fish*, white meat) *fish is one of the best sources of protein eat in small portions often throughout the day (5-7 meals, every 2-4 hrs approx) makes snacks that are fibrous as well (celery sticks, nuts, granola bars with whole wheat etc.) drink lots of water don't eat any processed foods don't need to cut back on anything else, but try to reduce carbs (not drastically)
An average healthy human should eat according to the food pyramid, for teenagers would b a bit different. Teenagers would have more calcium and protein in take, and a variety of food. Always eat high in fibre food, low sugar, low salt, carbohydrate, and vegetables and legumes. Women should eat more red meat than men(if you know why keep it to yourself)
