I currently have a pair of shb 56
It's four years old, but still in very good condition
Is the "new technology" worth switching over to?
    I was looking at the 101 mx's

4 years and your shoes are still in good condition? how are the insoles?

The 101's are pretty nice but its not a reason to spend another 120$ if ur shoes are already in good condition.

I can get the 101's for 80 (can't say where though), genuine of course from a reputable dealer
    Should I still get them?
and 4 years is kinda misleading, I stopped playing for two years, and only played heavy for the first two of the four years...

no point getting a new pair if your old ones are still performing well.

If they fit you and you like the design, at that price just grab a pair ;) (unless you could use the money for some other usefull purpose). People are scrambling around looking for the last pairs of SHB-98 they can get their hands on or SHB-99 LTD. I'd just buy a pair and leave them in the closet. I believe the local distributor here is out of the white/red ones already. For the technology alone I wouldn't buy them since you still have a decent pair.
