yep thanx... . when I was at the stringer the other day, I compared his bg80/85 with my vs850 double blinded and both he and I concluded that vs850 is rougher to the touch

Will I die a horrible death if I use this stuff to string a racquet just to be used for plastics?

VS850 loses tension about as fast as Ultimax does. Has similar awesome transitioning though.

The problem is with strings, is that you can't have everything.

What are these 'plastic' things of which you speak?

Lol... I used to use this string for plastics too, and it's fine. Although now I find that zm65 is much better for that purpose.

Interesting. ZM65 is great on feathers but I'm not enjoying it on plastics - I'm certain I strung it at least 2lbs too high @23. Maybe if I didn't have more racquets than limbs I'd get used to where the sweetspot was... that will be rectified VERY soon

The tension loss puts me off using it for feathers but not fussed on plastics as long as it doesnt get SO loose that I cannot play for laughing at the BONGGGGG* sound. I hope that pre-stretch plus low tension (sub 25lbs) on a racquet with a rep for holding tension should be ok for a season on feathers. I've decided on a safer option for plastics so I'll keep the vs850 to try later.

*Say in scooby-do voice for full effect.

Re comparing side by side. I have 3 identical (ish) racquets and could send two/maybe three to someone in the UK to test with, for the sake of SCIENCE!! I'm not offering to do this myself though. Bah humbug.

I'm quite excited to try this string but it will be about a month before I get my hands on it (VS850 yellows), after which I'll compare it with BG80 at identical tensions. For now though I can get a reel of VS850 whites for $26/reel cheaper than BG80 yellows/whites. It could be worth it in the end!

I need to test this stuff with my frequency analyzer... see just how bad the tension loss really is...

How much tension loss (by frequency) are you willing to endure?

If you're cutting your string every 2-3 weeks anyways, it won't matter much to you...

I wish I had started my testing with this string. Such a range of tensions I could have tested while it dropped! Ah well.

I'm definitely going to do that now. Gonna string it up at 28-30 lbs. and see how that goes. What's your current go-to string?

Me? Micro power 66 at 23lbs or zymax 65 at 22ish. Still testing and haven't tried vs850 yet. Strung zymax 62 too tight at 22lbs

I'm planning to finally get this strung on my old yonex wet noodle (nanospeed 200, Max tension 25lbs) 23/25 with prestretch to test it out and hope it doesn't drop too much with just casual use.
