Lumix 12X IA Digital Camera
Here is my website taking picture using Lumix 12x iA w/ Leica Lens.
I am going to upgrade to another camera in $700 range. So far, all pocket hand-held camera cannot take great badminton picture.
Any Suggestion in price range:$500-$800 for indoor badminton.

..for a camera body for baddy action in that price range and if you don't mind, you can look into the Used section @ Craiglist.com...
These are Canon bodies:

These are Nikon bodies:
Lenses, you need fast ones (big aperture openings) & you can rent them if you like. You can buy a brand new camera body & lens package, but i'm afraid the lens included might not be fast enough.
For discussions on badminton photography requirements, check out these threads (out of a few):

As far as I recall, M mount flange distance is too short for most modern DSLR systems. The only one that would fit it is the Micro 4/3 system from Oylmpus/Panasonic. But those are not full-frame nor are they considered to be in the top tier of digital sensor performance.
BUT ... a big but there... they still outperform films in most forms of 'general shooting'. Albeit, you only get about 1/2 the useable lens area in every shot, so the perspective of shooting on them is quite different from classic 35mm film.
