I would like to ask a question. I bought my AT 700 from lowyat.net forum and what if it cracked, can i bring it to the Yonex Sunrise for a replacement? Or i should just bring it back to the seller?
If it’s a manufacturing defect and not caused by you, you have to take the racket back to the seller. The seller then can return it to Yonex. Yonex will examine the racket and decide if the damage was down to a manufacturing fault. It is sometimes a long and time consuming process If racket is broken in transit, return it to seller.
If it was a minor clash, they wont give you a replacement. Clash is down to fault by either yourself or your partner. It is not a manufacturing defect. Yonex do not guarantee their rackets against clashes. You can try and sent it and see what Yonex say. They might look at it and find that area of impact was weak due to some manufacturing defect, thats if your lucky but very unlikely. I know someone who had a very very minor clash and broke his NS9900. He sent it to the seller who sent it to Yonex. Yonex did not send him a replacement, as a good will gesture, they offered him 10% discount on his next racket.
No manufacturer will warranty a product against someone hitting their product with something else... No offense but I'd think that would be pretty obvious. If you drive your car into a pole do you ask the car maker for a replacement? If you step on your ipod do you ask apple for a replacement? Sorry if I sound a little upset but any replacement of non manufacturers defects increases the costs for everyone.
I would LOL Ultimately, it is the manufacturer's discretions to determine whether to replace the racket even if it had been clashed. If it is an obvious sign that it was a clash, they will not, but there are cases where they had just replaced it where they were just minor indications of clashes which could of contributed to the racket breaking.
I'm not saying that manufacturers wouldn't replace it, just that it does cost them money to do so and that cost is passed on to their customers.
ya i know.. but some rackets able to stand a major clash. So is that consider as manufacturing defect? It's an expensive racket and i used half of my salary to buy it. so im very worry about it. Sad thing~
It really depends where it broke and how the breakage is. Do you have pictures to provide us? This will make it easier to determine the possibility of having it replaced.
One thing to consider is...did he include the receipt when you purchased the racket from the seller? If not, then you obviously would not go back to Yonex anyways.
