Hi! Yesterday it was my second game with my AT900T U3 racket and I must say racket is great. In the game between I tried Wilson kBrave which is head light and also lighter than AT900T U3. When I changed a racket to my AT900T it feels like a hammer when I started playing with it. but after I while my hand get use to it. My question is that maybe I should try to exchange it with U4 version because it is lighter and also head heavy so maybe I will get racket of my dream . My string tension is usually 22-26lb so I guess AT900T 4U will not have problems with that? How is with durability of U4 versions? Thank you for advice how U3 vs. U4 difference during a game and handling. Regards
My take to you should continue to use what you are comfortable with. The AT900 T 4U might not solve your problem as you know that the AT900T is head heavy. I think you are more suitable for a headlight racket. Hope this helps.
no that is not a point. I like AT900T racket which is head heavy. My question was will I maybe add more extra feeling if I exchange it with a U4 version which is lighter. What I will loose and what I will get? Is it true that U4 have shorter handle vs. U3?
Well i cant exactly tell you the whole picture because i always belive that what you feel is better that what people tell you its good. In badminton a lot of things are relative. something good for you might not be something that is good for me. Perhaps a lighter 4U would be better for you but i dont pefer you to do so cause 4 u are very brittle and it is very easy to break. The handles are in the same standard size.
In the Uk we only have the 4u version of the at900t and it is a very good all roundish racket. It is heady heavy so i would say it is more of an attacking racket than a defensive one, however defense is still good. Its not as fast as the the headlight rackets such as the ns8000 or ns4500 but due to the frame shape and weight it is quite manouverable and good for counter hits. In terms of durability i found the racket to be fine, took a few clashes and seemed fine. hope that helps
The 4U rackets seem to have the tendency of an overswing, so getting a 3U a player would not exhibit this problem. If 3U isn't available, get it from a place which does (ie overseas).
That would be the racket momentum influcing the the player's swing to keep going even thou the player had finished their swing. As if the player had less control on how he or she prefered to swing.
What would make you think it's a theory? Both the 3U and 4U will not be the same in terms of the feel and performance. The same goes for the 800s.
Thought you were trying to debate it lol. I have not tried both versions in play - only swinged empty stringless frames thou. I was told from various players including a Yonex rep who used and owned both 3U and 4U. Not saying it does in fact overswing, the players mentioned that it has the feeling tendency of overswing. This is probably because of the weight density distribution of the graphite.
i am using the 4u version of the at900t. the reason i chose 4u is cuz i have shoulder problems. i can tell u for a 4u, it packs a lot of power, tho not as much as my previous 3u ti-10. and defensively its awesome.
I think that it depends on the type of game you normally play i.e. single or double, which means that you would choose 3U for singles and 4U for doubles.
