Im getting a new 'used' machine in the next week or so when i pick it up if all goes well with my car anyways lol. The machine im hoping to buy is a universal machine so the spring/tensioner goes up in 4lbs which is fine for tennis. the machine goes upto 70 lbs i think but not useful for badminton and i will mainly use for badminton and some squash. is the spring just harder in universal crank machines? if so can i replace it with a badminton specific spring and calibrate it again? to allow a wider range at lower tension Noppy
I'd check with the manufacturer to see if there is any way of making the machine more badminton compatible. or you can tell us what the machine is, and then the experts here can tell you ^_^
How old is this machine? If it is like most crank machines nowadays, the scale would read at a 3-4lb increment, but there is a dial that adjust the desired tension 1lb at a time. You might want to look into that. If the spring is worn out, then you need to replace it... otherwise you should be able to adjust tension on a crank machine 1lb at a time. Adjusting the tension 4lbs at a time is not acceptable, even for tennis.
Hi, thanks for both replies 1) its bowbrand almost identical a few of the eagnas machines (of model numbers i dont know) 2) thanks i didnt know about the 1lb adjust i have been trying to read up on cranks but never found that information. The machine is 6/7 years old and the tensioner is exactly the same as all brand new ones. im getting the machine sometime next week and will most pictures when i do noppy
