So I just got through with my first big tournament which was the affinity open which I loved, and I was wondering if there are any other tournaments coming up. I saw a banner on Badminton avenue about theirs next month but there was no info. Also heard about racket supply having a tournament from kakinami but havent seen any other info on that either. Other than that I think theres another bay area open in february. Anyone have anymore info on these or other tournaments I haven't heard of?
Racket supply tournament on jan 23-24 UC Berkeley should be having one around begining of feb and UC Davis I think will have one around late April.
In the bay area there are a number of tournaments every year. This is all from memory so correct me if im wrong, or add to the list. There is Winter Polar Bear and Spring Smashapalooza from Berkeley. BBC Has hosted their annual self help for the elderly tournament in the winter, and I think the BBC Open in the summer. There are a number of tournaments at SJSU, Victor Open in the winter, Bay Area Open fall/winter, and I think another one early fall. Davis also has a spring and fall tournament. This was Affinity's first bigger tournament, and BBC has other various team tournaments through out the year. Overall I see there only being a 1.5-2 month gap between tournaments. O yea there are also adult nationals at G1, duhh how can i forget that.
I don't think I have ever played or seen any of you guys at tournaments. Although, I don't play tournaments anymore... I would say, also open gym. But then again, I don't play open gym anymore either...haha.
I play maybe once every 2 months or so. I will let you know when I decide on a place to play. But call it a treat if you do see me out and about playing.
