While a committed doubles coach from Denmark or Indonesia will be great, I don't remember the overall results during Vimal's reigns being a quarter as good as Gopi's (or for that matter Prakash's)...
Vimal's two reigns were better than Dipu Ghosh's all right, but that was his level as national coach statistically.... Nowhere near PG or even PP.....

Vimal handled Anup Shridhar, Chetan Anand, AS Gupta as national coach; all more skilled than Kashyap..... Compare the results.

@Fan123 Please read my posts again. I am not questioning his singles coaching or comparing him with anyone else. I am just emphasizing that Vimal hired a doubles specialist and focused on singles.
Big Picture: Please focus only on doubles.
Do you agree that India needs a specialist doubles foreign coach?
I just want Gopichand to focus only on Singles and leave Doubles coaching to a foreign specialist. Can you imagine how much stronger Indian badminton will become. Only Gopichand can press and convince BAI to hire a specialist. It is time India moved from Singles strong to Powerhouse.

I agree with the specialist part, nationality is immaterial, and I also propose that if by 2016 things don't change; maybe BAI should totally segregate singles and doubles programs.

Wherever India is now , the credit actually goes to Gopichand . No other person. He has been trying really hard to produce world class players.

My humble opinion regarding the unavailability of quality doubles players :-

In one interview, i have heard Gopichand saying that the number of players who are willing to play doubles is very less. Even if some people come to play doubles, they leave the set-up due to many reasons (personal) ,keeping in mind the future of their career. And also, In India, we don't have proper system for anything . If the only best pair jwala/aswini is paying from their pocket to play tournaments, we need to think that how it gonna be for any other player/pair to play without any background or sponsor.

This is not China where all the necessities needed for a player are taken care of and the player only need to concentrate on badminton.

Unless you get a proper system , "n" number of players willing to play doubles, Proper speciallist to coach doubles, Proper finance background , we are not able to go to that level for sure.

One example i wanna give about the financial situation with indian badminton players.

I have read one article about our 17 year old senior cum junior singles national champion , Ruthvika Shivani. The article was about her various achievements and titles she won in national championships. But at last, it was mentioned that she was searching for a sponsor who can provide financial assistance for her to improve her physical strength(she is rather weak in terms of international standards). If at all, she could not get financial assistance to maintain her physical condition, how can she pay to go for foreign tours to play more international tournaments.

Sindhu's situation was different. She was provided by her parents for many international tournaments even when she was 15 or 16 years old .

I apologise if anything wrong in my views or posts.

What happened to Sourabh verma ? His rank gone out of 100 now.
Stopped playing badminton?. He is one of the players who has beaten Peter gade. That was peter's last match before his retirement.

Just as i mentioned , here you go. He registered his name in Srilanka International Challenge 2015

Some of the promising junior indian players are playing in srilanka international Challenge 2015.

Some notable junior players who are taking part in that tournament are Laa Talar , Siril varma and Harsheel Dani.

In WS, Rituparna Das, Ruthvika Shivani, Rasika Raje are some of junior players taking part in this tournament.

One of the Future promising MD pair M.R.Arjun/Chirag Shetty is playing .

    Couldn't agree more....
I believe prize money parity in national level singles and doubles tournaments will help, also BAI should send doubles teams regularly to play at the IS and IC levels, before unleashing them directly at the GP or SS levels.
