just got tickets !! Can anyone recommend a good hotel nearby the National Indoor Arena ? also will the big brands be selling their equipment at the tournament ? ie : yonex, li ning, victor ... ? thx! will be a nice trip to the UK.
There are a few hotels nearby. Go to Google Map and use the following search word birmingham national indoor arena hotels. It also shows the rating and reviews. Hope this helps. In regards to the other question, am sure some of the other BCers will be able to help
try the holiday inn or holiday inn express depends how much you want to pay and the facilities you want If it is just to sleep in try the holiday inn express if you want a swimming pool etc then go for the holiday inn I recommend the holiday inn express though. It's about £50 a night usually and has free continetal breakfast it has really good facilities and the hotel chain has a good reputation (owning intercontinetal, crowne plaza etc) Enjoy
Express by Holiday Inn is definitely nice, comfy and new, best of all it's only 50 quids w b&b. p.s. LD_Rules, i like inter-con though.
Other members have informed you about the hotels. There is plenty of choice for varying budgets within 5 min walk. With respect to Equipment. The only stuff you can buy in the arena is Yonex. Other brands display their goods, but are not allowed by yonex to sell- They refer you to their websites.
i like inter-con exclusively but would like to try (paris) hilton and no thanks to hyatt--thank you hyatt experience!
Inter-con is GREAT the only time I was ever in it would like to try the other two (Hilton and hyatt) what's so bad about hyatt I thought they were good ? What about marriot or Sheraton ? I like marriot hotels
marriott is definitely better than hyatt (understaffed everywhere) imo. sheraton is like inter-con but only if i'm older. however, gaining bizniz contacts at hotel bars in sheraton proves to be ichiban.
yep I think probaly marriot is the best one in terms of price comfort facilities etc Infortunatly there is no marriot in Birmingham as far as I am aware So holiday inn chain is your best bet unless I am wrong LD
thx everyone ! i'm sure i can find a nice hotel now are those the same hotels the players will be staying in ? it's too bad about the equipment tho was hoping to buy some li-ning stuff there. i'm guessing Birmingham doesn't have a li ning store Ive been to the Dutch Open this year, which is also a yonex sponsored event. Besides yonex there were also sales-stands for Victor, Carlton and Forza. was kinda expecting the same thing.
the players are most likely to stay in the crowne plaza or hilton hotels and other 4*&5* hotels these ones are more pricey obviously so if you have a big budget then you can stay there
Can recommend Jury's Inn, as someone else has mentioned - its approx a 5 minute walk over to the NIA from the hotel, and many of the players stay there also. The All England does allow companies other than Yonex to have stands/stalls at the venue - but you will not be allowed to buy anything from them - as the only company allowed to sell items at the All England is Yonex. Central Sports are the Yonex licensee's at the All England.
Crowne plaza is fully booked, alternatives are the novotel, jury inn, ibis or Marriott all good but can be expensive.
nitenite cityhotels, birmingham at £47.00 per night - this is somewhere along broad st. so so close to NIA. http://inventory.cheaphotels.co.uk/hotel/propertydetails/279235/PHOTOS?isHRN=true&travelDetail=[20100311-1]1&cid=174416:crying::crying::crying:
