On the right side of my ribcage, it feels like a tendon or something moving out of place every time I do overhead shots..

    Any idea what it is?

    P.S. I'm right-handed

i got the injury thru smashing, btw im right handed too.
what i did was (the same with other muscle injury) cold compress for at least 24 hours and gradually strengthen the muscle involved....guaranteed, it works!

It's either the latissimus dorsalis or one of the intercostal muscles - it's a bunch of small muscles located between the bones in the ribcage. It is very possible that what you've done is bursting a small musclefiber which causes you pain everytime you strain the muscle. The best advice is to stop straining the muscle - by stopping to play badminton for the next couple of weeks so the muscle get some time to heal up. If your pain haven't gone away after a couple of weeks relaxtion, I would recommend seeing a doctor...
