We know badminton is great exercise, but maybe it can be presented in a different form to gain wider recognition. Billy Blanks turned martial arts into Tai-Bo, and many have turned dances into aerobic workout routines. People come up with new ones all the time (turnstep.com). How about an aerobic workout routine based on badminton moves? Of course, you would have to work both left and right side the same way.
As a matter of fact, this has been done for tennis. There's a fitness video called Tennis Aerobics. You can view the description here: http://www.collage-video.com/in-stock-videos/2612.htm Maybe we should start working on a video for badminton About turnstep.com ... I've done step aerobics for years. I learned badminton footwork (chasse, criss-cross) while doing step aerobics without know it. The choreography can get pretty complex and I sometimes feel like dancing. I also started cardio kickboxing (Tae Bo like cardio) 2 years ago. Those kicks are excellent to train your legs (quads, hamstrings, calves, ...) for badminton, and also for flexibility. So if you're bored with traditional leg training (squats, plies, ...), give cardio kickboxing/Tae Bo a try.
