..with another hectic 2009 BWF calendar year coming to a screeching end in just a few days or so (with who-knows-what-surprises-will-show-up), which player(s)/pair(s) do you guys think will be the player(s)/pair(s) to watch next year??.. Some interesting questions and queries to ponder: - Will it be someone new for each of the field (MS, WS, MD, WD and XD), or will it be same old story and players??.. - Will SuperDan continue his dominance? Or will he reserve more of his energy and only focus on major individual/team tourneys? - Will Dato LCW be able to overcome his current injury and toughen up? Or will his injury bother him all yr long? - Will KOR's Doubles specialist & baddy idol, Lee Yong Dae, continue his magic or suffer a slump? - Will KOR's WS Hwang Hye Youn return from her injury and put a big smile on the down-but-not-out madbad, once again? - What will happen to INA MD supreme pair, Markis Kido & Hendra Setiawan? Will they finally get their long sought after AE title? - Will Dionysius H. Rumbaka continue his surprising performance? - Who will challenge CHN's WS & WD dominance? - Will the Danes' XD pairs continue their strong performance? - Will Jan O Jorgensen finally take over the mantle, as DEN's #1 MS, from Peter Gade? ..let's hear 'em.. ..yes, limsy? i can feel your fingers are about to hit those keyboards..
I hope Li Xue Rui and Xia Huan/Tang Jin Hua will be sent more in international events...Looking forward to their performance in te future..... Hope 2010 will be the year of JIang Yan Jiao
i have a feeling limsy is either: - still thinking abt which player(s)/pair(s) or - he's still typing a super-duper long preview/post..
dont think too much if u follow up my post u should know i have just finish my gathering and now settling my photo(i am cameraman) and will have a bc all star session at 31/12 with george, suetyan and more, plus i have asignment to do i will answer this as soon as posible
^^I am anxious..^^ ..and can't wait to read your answer(s) to this thread! Btw, wow, there's gonna be a BC all-star party on the 31st?..any satays on the menu??..
ms 1st lindan and lcw had won 8 ss in both 2007 and 2009 but only manage to win 4 in 2008 due to the olympic problem(lindan long rest and lcw mental hurdle in final) they should win atleast 6 ss titles in 2010 if not,i think the era of them will end soon. i think peter gade will have another fine year in 2010 with atleast 1 ss title i think. is time for hu yun, kenichi tago, hayom, tanongsak, gurusaidut to close the gap to get closer to the 2nd class player(chen jin,bao chun lai, sdk,ss,bp) i still think that chen long wont make it big in 2010,wang zheng ming and tian hou wei should be the next lindan while denmark have joj,ina have hayom malaysia and korea still struggling to find their next ms leader chan kwong beng and chong wei feng is the best shot and they should have qualify for thomas cup as for korea ms,li mao is working hard on that i believe
for ws china have won more than 60% of the ws ss titles and they will won atleast another 7 next year is hard to break china dominant in ws its china vs the rest of the world fortunately,we have player like saina nehwal, tine rasmussen, wong mew choo but they wont fight alone thailand ws like salakjit, porntip and ratchanok will be better and stronger in 2010,and we might see they slay 1 or 2 china ws in tournament we should not left out chinese taipei ws,chen hsiao hua,hsu ya ching and tai tzu ying is good enough to have a fight with the china ws nanna and julia will come out from injury next year,i bet many have forget them is time for country like ina and korea to answer the call of china ws in 2010
now is the chaos md i wont comment on wd and xd it was the top four pair dominant in past 2 years they have won 29 out of 36 ms ss titles but i think the structure of md will change in 2010 boe/morgensen can win 1 or 2 ss next year maybe japan can win one next year too will hope to see how the ina new pairing perform malaysia best bet is from mak/tan and chan/lim both of them should have entered thomas cup squad
Ratchanok Inthanon to be in the Top 20 World Ranking in 2010 at the age of 15 ? . If we are considering a rising star to watch in 2010, then Ratchanok Inthanon is the player. Hope that she can get into the Top 20 World Ranking in 2010 at the age of 15. .
Appreciate you guys keeping those of us in the badminton-arid areas of the world abreast of the up-and-comers. Limsy, would you elaborate? I've only seen a couple videos but Chen Long looks quite good and has a confident bearing. To have someone so young explode on the scene would be dazzling news. Are there videos of her play? She looks so slight in the photos.
my humble opinion well chen long is good but not good enough to become one of the top like lcw or lindan atleast not now he have the height, courtcoverage and smash but he still lack of something special that made lcw(hardworking and great defence)/lindan(great speed and attack)/peter gade(great passion and brain)/taufik hidayat(born to play badminton, pure talent)/wong choong hann(famous for his spirit and attitude)(sorry,i am too young) different from the others thats takes alot of hardwork, sweat, years and more to reach that level he might be in the top 3 after 3/4 years yes,he defeated lcw,ld and taufik(i forget that if he beat peter gade) but can he perform well again in 2010? i dont think so there is still many player is better than him in ms at this moment if he cant step up before 2012,i think he will end up like chen yu because, after 2012,he had cj infront of him, wang zhengming and tian hou wei(both the future lindan in making)is chasing from behind if he want to made it big its now or never hope u understand what i mean thanks
Empty, dry.. ..unfortunately, last time i checked, there is no video of her competing (even in BC, although there are videos of the WJC MD match on youtube). That's a shame because she recently won the World Junior Championships in WS. Hopefully, in 2010, we'll get to see videos of her competing. As for Chen Long, talent is there but will he ever be consistent?
Tago (JPN) to break the top 10 WSX (CHN) to continue her rapid climb to the top Jorgensen (DEN) to usher in a changing of the guards for Europe HHY (KOR)... where are you?? :crying::crying:
Choi Ho Jin?? anyone??.. ..after his surprising scalp job against SuperDan in last yr's East Asian Games MS Final, i thought this guy is going to be one of those MS players to keep an eye on for this yr?? ..but, unfortunately, he suffered a devastating defeat vs. MAS' Tan Chung Seang in yesterday's Qualification Rd.... is Choi Ho Jin for real? or was his win against SuperDan nothing more than a Christmas present from SuperDan, himself??..
players to watch in 2010 are: WYH, WX, SXW, WL, HHY, GW, AF, etc CHJ lost the qualifier maybe because he got wore (ie. tired) out from interviews, talk show appearance, and many dinner parties after his win over Lin dan
