I recently dug up an old Carb 20 around my house, I took a look at it and noticed the serial code only has 4 digits (3 099). The racket itself is at least 20 years old, and uses the old Yonex logo with 2 triangles. So I'm just curious, anyone know what's up with the serial code...and if this racket is "rare" in any way? Thanks in advance
I will buy it off you for £15 But seriously you are on to a gold mine with that racket, how is the pantwork on it ? If it is near perfect that could be sold for £120+ easily As the racket is old thats how the serial was Good find well done I found a Ti 10 1st gen in a charity shop for £6.99 And I sold it for £100+
Hey!! I'm trying to get Tim to sell it to me . Not sure about the £120+ but I am looking for exactly a red Cab20 for collection. It's quite rare to see one of these.
you are quite a biznizman! btw, was offered 100 quids for my cab 20 lavender (IP) a while back...but i just wanted to play with it. TimBitz, wow, it's very rare these days to find a yy cab 20 (red original). MetalOrange
I haven't actually seen one of these before apart from some oldish guy came to some training thing I had signed up for ( the training was open to all ages) and he said he bought it while on holiday about 20 years ago and hadn't though about buying a new racket cause he loves it so much. Also he NEVER played doubles with it in fear of getting the paint chipped instead he plays with a MP66 I think
Hey guys I just purchased a cab20 original (blue, with gold, old yonex logo) and cab 8 original (blue) this morning both is really good condition for 20 bucks I'll post some pics later. Quick question what are the max tension for the cab20 original?
I'm sure it saids right on the cone unless the sticker is missing. Probably not much higher than 22, but it's been so long I don't recall off my head. Need to look it up at home.
I do not recall seeing tension recommendations for rackets of these ages. Partly from memory of my B8200 and Cab15 and none on the Aerotus 110 I just checked. Certainly, do not even play with it. Sell it to me .
After perusing everything that has been written and said about Cab 20, I think he'll definitely add a zero and sell it at 200 bucks!
...although, I have tested the waters by stringing 10% (almost) higher at 24 lbs and it is great with bg 68Ti. NExt time, I'll try 25 to overclock it (ha ha, like CPUs huh!) and see how it holds.
Opps, sorry you are correct. I got myself confused of a Cab 20 CP which I had before and sold which had the tension written down.
