“We normally play better in our second tournament back-to-back but we are skipping the Korea Open next week, so we have to see how things goes. We will aim to get into at least the semi-finals,” said Kien Keat.

Top pair out to break Putra Stadium jinx
http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/N...cle/index_html
THE Malaysia Open has been all about Lee Chong Wei since 2004 but men's doubles Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong have a special reason for wanting to steal the limelight in this year's tournament on Jan 19-25. Chong Wei has won all but the 2007 Malaysia Open and coincidentally that was the only year Kien Keat-Boon Heong managed to secure the title but national doubles coach Rosman Razak said a win at Putra Stadium this time will boost their confidence tremendously.
The Putra Stadium jinx had struck Kien Keat-Boon Heong on three occasions -- the Malaysian Open in 2008 and 2009 and the 2007 World Championships -- where they failed to progress beyond the quarter-final stage.

i found it immersely funny when someone always talk on behalf for everyone on this earth and he say thats a general statment
and that not the 1st time

Its really funny, why someone care so much, if he is not a fan of some body or cant accept the fact that winning is more important than just performed OK as top 4 pair in the world.........
And some one here.........who always talk about facts still thinking that some player training so hard and come in a tournament is just to perform OK or try their best, but not about to be the best and win the tournament..........funny enough ! and its really just a general statement for all players in the world, deep inside their heart...they all wanted to be the best lah, if not why train so hard ?.......this is the fact. LOL
I still remember lots of Bcer members here asked 'Why participate if not to win..or not well prepared.?' These are facts and facts are cruel...
The true fact is general public has the right to critic..........and sadly those critics have proven to be always right......lol...really funny, right ?Last edited by jasonmarc; 01-06-2010 at 10:50 PM.

There is no pressure on them to be World Ranking No.1 anymore
.
BAM has now made it the winning at;
* the World Championships (in Paris),
* the Asian Games (in Guangzhou),
* the Commonwealth Games (in New Delhi) and
* the Thomas Cup (in Malaysia)
to be the priorities for 2010.
The pressure is not on them to win as many SS titles from now on; which means there is no pressure on them to be World Ranking No.1 anymore.

“We normally play better in our second tournament back-to-back but we are skipping the Korea Open next week, so we have to see how things goes. We will aim to get into at least the semi-finals,” said Kien Keat.
“However, the good news is he has fully recovered from a knee injury and he is coping well in training. He has always done well on home ground and I hope he can reach the final again.”

now, will jasonmarc ask lcw and koo/tan withdraw from malaysia open as they not aiming the title?

That was the reason the they make noise but not necessarily they are right, they just see other people, want to simply follow. For singles, Misbun replied abt LCW's schedule bf.
For KKK/TBH, as I pointed out, it's not much difference, just less 1 tourney in total. Fu/Cai's participation reduced a lot in 2009

Those 'facts' are not from me, as i pointed out that during Singapore Open 2009 when LCW said he was not well prepared..........lots of people made that comments.......
I wont asked LCW & kkk/tbh to withdraw, because even a great player like LD, also wont speak out loud that he is aiming only the title, he usually say something like... 'i will try my very best in the tournament, and see what can i do......' in a very polite way.....and so did kkk/tbh and LCW....If they dare to speak out loud like that.....i think they will get boombarded very soon....
So its natural for a player to hold back a bit before a tournament started.......

But the 'fact' was the other way round ! they won the first tournament, Denmark Open and lost out the second in their europe 'back to back' tourneys...........how come they said they usually play well in the 2nd of the back to back tourney.....

See, they actually just wanted to lessen their pressure in Mas Open............so they could perform better........
