Looking at Sung Ji Hyun yesterday, I am still far from impressed with her performance and her staying power. No doubt she is very good especially at frontcourt, but she lacks staying power and had to resort to gamesmanship to break WMC's run at the end of games 2 and 3. Luckily, she was already gifted the match with WMC's errors.
Both Baes (Youn Joo and Seung Hee) are better overall although this may be academic when they play each other.

2010 Malaysian Open SS Quarter-Finals: Sung Ji Hyun-vs-Bae Youn Joo match
.
Will SJH be able to set up more netplay challenges when playing against BYJ at the Quarter-Finals tonight?
At Round 2 yesterday, SJH's match was more than twice longer than BYJ's. Surely, SJH would be tired to play long and deep rallies tonight.
Recapping Round 2 results;
Youn Joo BAE
[KOR] defeated
[THA] Salakjit PONSANA 21-16, 21-11 in 30 mins
Ji Hyun SUNG
[KOR] defeated
[MAS] Mew Choo WONG 12-21, 21-18, 21-17 in 62 mins

Chris, in a match between teammates, one's typical strong points would not be that strong due to familiarity. Otherwise Lin Dan would never lose to his teammates in training.

It seems that Korea WS department's performance has dropped recently. Not only Sung Ji Hyun, but also Bae Seung Hee, Kim Moon Him, and Bae Youn Joo also lost in earlier round of AE. They did badly in last week German Open as well. What happened actually? After such a good performance in Korea Open and Malaysia Open, they are exhausted? hehe...

Would have been a shocker if any of them had won a match in Germany as NONE of them played.

What you saw this week was merely a failure to produce more upsets. They all lost to higher-ranked opponents and Bae Youn Joo did pull off an upset over Petya (WR#15). Bae Seung Hee is the highest ranked of the Koreans at #16 and the four Koreans were beaten by the world #7, #8, #10, and #11.

Opps, sorry. I think I wrote the wrong tournament. I mean the SCG Thomas&Uber Cup 2010 Preliminary Asia Zone. Haha... I was a bit blur recently due to heavy workloads.
They did badly at the group stage but they were able to come back at the final stage. Hehe... sorry..
But from what I can see from the Korea Open and Malaysia Open to this All England, I sense that their performance has dropped. Maybe youngsters still have up and down. This applies to chinese youngsters as well. Hehe... hope they can perform better in the upcoming important event - Uber Cup. I hope they can at least get a silver. Hehe...
