Default whoring myself out for Apac Super PU grip

Anyone have spare Apac super PU grips?

Apacs canada only has a box of 30 of them, and I just can't justify buying so many.

So i was wondering if I could buy maybe like 5-6 grips from someone and pay for shipping to Canada ofcourse.

Or if anyone is interested in a group buy, let me know.

Awesome! PM me when you get em!

BTW, how's your Tantrum and Lethal combo doing?
    How do you like them?

I see you're using BG80 at 23lbs for plastic birds and not getting enough power from your stroke. If your swing is not fast, you may want to consider BG65 at 22 lbs. Thicker strings at lower tension much better when playing plastic birds.

I'll buy some too, if there's any left. Say, 4 or 5. Color doesnt matter, though if possible, i'd liek to avoid the highlighter yellow one i got before with the Tantrum 200

    Hi there,

I'm going to re-string it and use higher tension - like 26 lbs for the Lethal 70. Not too sure what to do yet with the Tantrum 300 yet. Maybe I should concentrate on not sucking so hard in this sport first - got monkey rapped in badminton by old people today, omfg.

Anyways, I migrate back to Vancouver from Victoria, so it may take another week or two until we can meet up to give you the grips.

I'll update you guys on when I receive them.

Just a quick question: what level would you rate yourself?

If beginner to intermediate, may I suggest you first try the Tantrum with BG65 at 21-22 lbs first, especially if you play plastic birds. You will be able to hit much better than the Lethal with BG80 at 26lbs. Trust me. However, a string job is only $20, so it'll only be a $20 experiment if doesn't work out...

My tantrum is setup at 23 lbs using the NBG95 or whatever string it is.

I would rate myself as intermediate level at max. It's a little difficult for me to judge the barrier between playing well and tension setting. Sometimes if I'm in a good mood, or in a tight game, I tend to play better and am able to release more power in my swing. Other times, I can't even hit at all. But I do feel that I have to give a really good swing, not just in power, but in good form to get a good hit with the Tantrum 300. This is somewhat of an indication of my lower skill level.

I'm thinking of stringing the lethal 70 using bg65 now, hoping it will last longer.

Hmmmm... the Tantrum's string and tension set up may still be too repulsive for you.

I guess just experiment a little and you'll find that lower tension with thicker strings are better for plastic at your level. It makes much more of a difference than a new racket.

If you get a chance, just ask to try out another player's racket with lower tension and see what you think. You can compare tension of rackets by strumming the strings and comparing the tones. Lower tone means relatively lower tension.

i have the lethal 60 strung at 26lb with bg 65 feels great, tho you hit the sides (outside sweet spot), the shuttle won't bounce much i.e won't make it over the net on a return drop... smash wise it's excellent... control's quiet good...
the down side is that you'll need a good swing, i lent my racket to one of girls, and not really smashing well...

i'm certain the tension depends on racket, i tried bg80 at 26 on my muscle power 100 and i could generate no power... tho it may be the strings 26 on my lethal feels like 23-24 on my MP100...

i think a slightly higher tension on apacs would be better, try 24-25 ish on your lethal and see how that goes...

Strings AND tension make a difference. Like for example

    BG65 @ 26 = BG66/80 @ 23 or 24 = ZM62 @ 21 or 22.

by "=" i mean, "is comparable to".

BG65 is a pure durability string. No repulsion, no touch, no control, no nothing. Just straight up durability. Which is probably why you feel it doesn't have "bounce."

sorry guys, I got a reply from apacscanada that they don't have the super PU grips in stock.

They said they will have them in another 2 weeks or so.

im a little confused so if i get bg 65 @ 26 lbs...they will feel like the bg 80 @ 24 lbs? but more durable ightz?
i mean this as in power, control etc...

or do u mean the power part only.as in bg 65 @ 26 lbs is like the power of bg 80 @ 24 lbs?

please clear up as im confused
    thanks.

i think he means the tension will feel the same, as BG80 recommending you to string 5-10% lower than bg65. (behind every pack of bg80 strings)

bg65 are great strings absolutely awesome because they're low budget, durable, and good tension retention.
