Some comments to the organizers (OBA) after watching today's matches.

    1) It used to be such a well organized event but now it got side-tracked.
I could not believe today they only provide folding chairs for
all atheletes and spectators. A lot of people had to stand for hours.
Also it was not convenient for the spectators to watch the game with a
good view. Not to mention if you want to record a game.

    2) This event fell far behind schedule (about 1 hour and 15 minutes).
Why did OBA decide to squeeze in multiple events
(U16 U19 OBA-BCD and Toronto Open). I had to skip part of WD and
entire XD semi-finals. Had this event followed the original schedule (semi finals were supposed to begin at 2:00pm), I'd be able to watch them all.

I'm not sure OBA would read this message. I'll go to watch the finals tomorrow.

not in good quality but they were the best I could get.

Again, Had they used the gym spectators' seating, I could have a better angle, just like those I did for '09 Toronto Open。

yeah, it was the high light of the day.

Michelle made too many errors in the first game losing 10:21.

She played agressively in game 2 and 3.
Nichole could not catch up with her pace.
She also played a lot of smashes from the beginning of a rally.
I guess it was because Nichole also had super net shot techiques.
Nichole did not expect those smashes at all.

Michelle guarded her WS title on her home court.

yes, in G1 I noticed a lot of missed opportunities by Michelle with missed shots (out) and shots into the net when she was dictating/in the rally. Nice to see the perseverance!

    you think spectating was bad
try having a really dusty floor to deal with as a competitor
but i gotta hand it to Badminton Canada and OBA....they did clean up their act 2 hours into the start of saturday

oh, I saw those kids mopped the floor after each game.
Originally I thought OBA tried to make it more offical like super series,
now I know it was because players complained:-(

I'm just trying to ask a question here:
during men's single semi-final between Alex Pang and Joseph Rogers,
I saw a couple really questionable base line "out" calls by Alex.
I'm not sure if anyone paid attention to those. Well I guess you need to
sit in the right position to tell.

    all players do that
i've seen 1st rounders of the Men's Doubles have the same issue
cheating and bad line calls will always be apart of the game
just look @ Hong Kong Open, Taufik just left the damn venue for that same reason

its in all sports, professional or not

Thanks for the videos! I was there for the semi's but I was not able to make it for the finals and was pretty bummed out about it until I saw you had posted them up on Youtube.

I'm not sure about the calls because I know the best of people see the wrong thing sometimes. Let's face it, even line judges dedicated to doing the specific task in the most optimal settings can screw up.

However, at some point there is a line (no pun intended), and that can be whether they're cheating the important points at the end of a close game, or if they're doing too many, or I've even seen where someone's own coach told them they made a bad call but ignored it. Also I've heard elite players say that all top players cheat a point or two here and there.

i do not believe HK line judges cheat. Taufik walk out after the 1st questionable call. I call that wimping out.

i didnt say anything about the line judges cheating
    they just make bad calls
like any other sport in this world

Henry's hand ball in WORLD CUP qualifiers this year???
it will be in any sport
its just a matter of if people will admit to their mistake and try to minimize it
