My last thread didn't go so well so I'll ask again. I'm looking for a place to play badminton for leisure, hopefully a place with more young adults who are in my age group (late high schoolers, university students, recent grads). Lee's and Mandarin are catered towards training, right? I don't think those are right for me as I'm still a beginner and need to beef up my skills first. Thanks guys
I think that there are some drop-in things at Angus Glen CC. There are also many groups that rent Unionville HS and Markville HS. Try and find those? And yes, Lee's and Mandarin.. I think it's better to go as a pair or group of 4.
I know the City of Toronto has a "Fun Guide" which lists community cneter drop in badminton. Perhabs the Parks and Rec departments at Markham, Richmond Hill and Thornhill have something like this you can access.
There are actually a large range of players in the clubs, but I think most of the youth that play at the clubs are considered "advanced" players. Also, people often go to the clubs in PAIRS or GROUPS (of 4), so it might be hard to find a single person to pair up with.
l'amoureaux recreation centre, kennedy/mcnicoll ave. they have recreational badminton from 8:45pm to 10:45pm usually it's a program from toronto parks. but i think the coordinator will allow drop ins for $5 so if you want to meet some people, you can go there. this is purely leisure, players there are beginners to intermediate.
I found the recreational guide useless for badminton...and courts were almost impossible to book when I used to try during high school.
city of toronto is useless and court fees is like 20 buks per hour u might as well drop into a real badminton club for tht price duno if they upp'd or drop'd the prices yet..... 20 buks an hour can get u to basically any good club in toronto, minus probably GRANITE and BOULEVARD
