Howdy everyone. My girlfriend and I just started playing racquetball. We're both super newbie and just wanted some opinions from more experienced individuals.

We were given two leftover racquets from a relative. They are a Kason Super TSF Glory 98, and a Yonex Super Nano CIS 08. He mentioned that we should restring these to 19lbs.

Question: Do we restring these, or are we better off buying new ones? I couldn't find much information on them.

    1. How often do you play, how serious are you?

We just started playing once a week a month ago.

    2. What style of player are you? (Aggressive smasher, net player ...)

No idea. Just trying to improve our skill.

    3. Do you care much about durability or is it all about performance?

Just want something good to learn the game with.

    4. How much money do you want to spend?

Perfectly comfortable spending $100 dollars, but is it necessary?

Also, why is the racquet missing one horizontal member? Bad stringing job?

    TIA!

Kason Super TSF Glory 98 is a very good racket. The yonex one which you belive is a victor super nano. There all good racket. Good enough for a advance level player. There are around 100 dollar when new. Kason is the racket for chinese youth team, victor for korean nation team.
You only need to restring them, perhaps with yonex BG65 at 21 lbs.

The string job in the picture is not a bad one. Some stringer like to move the bottom cross down a hole ,it makses it looks like they skip one bottom cross string, I saw them some times. It suppose give more support for the string.

    So very true.

Thank you very much. Is there a particular reason why you recommended Yonex BG65. Do I need to specify anything else when I get the racquet restringed? "Here's my racquet, Yonex BG65 @ 21 lbs please, and here's money, TYVM"?

Another thing, that racquet's strings nearest the sides seem to angle inwards towards the top whereas the other racquet's strings are all perfectly orthogonal to each other. A reason for that?

BG65 and 21 lb is standard. It is same as yonex factory string. It is good for beginner and very durable. It may last you over a year.
But if you don't care about restring more often then there is better choice out there.
I put BG85 for my 10 years old son's racket, so he has more power. I play BG80 myself but restring it every 6-8 weeks.

So if you are OK with that, I would recommend with BG85 or BG80 at 21 lb or ashaway micro legend XL at 22lb. They have very good power. Better than BG65. But less durable.

1st all you really have to say is like what you said above "hi can I get a restring BG65@21 lbs please here is the money " that is it
The reason the strings may move is because the strings are at a low tension and therefore are not very tight
    I recomend BG80@21-22lbs

Your relative knows his stuff. Find a good stringer and restring them with BG65 @ 21 lbs for you, and 19 lbs for you GF. Don't think too much at this point, just enjoy the game.

That's all you need to say for stringing... as for the strings on the sides, that's just the nature of strings that share grommets on isometric heads. Some rackets which have separate grommets for mains and crosses aren't as bad but still have some angle to the strings on the sides.
