    Default Stringing with Yonex BG-85

I have been given by one of my clients a Yonex Aerotus 110 SP Racket.
He has also given me his own set of BG-85 which is 0.67 m/m.
I have no problem with using this, but he wants it tight.
does anyone have stringing or playing experience with this particular type of string.
In my opinion, i would not go above 21LBS tension with it, because its like cotton and thats before i stretch the stuff.
Player is club standard and no better!

Any advice will be great please

I think if you are not prepared to string above 21lbs, then you should explain it to the client. He can then make the decision wether to ask you to string at 21lbs or take it to another stringer.

I've gone to 24-25lbs with BG85 on crank machines. I must say it was quite satisfactory apart from the short lifespan. I'm guessing your client might get at most 2months playing time out of it.

Another factor to consider is Aerotus 110 is not the most sturdy racquet around. That's why we don't see many of them anymore

    Steve,

I agree with Cheung. Let him know your view point about the string and that it's not ideal to string over 21lb. You are more wiser than him, so let him know. If he is a club player, and he plays with 'cotton wool' strings, chances are that he is bound to hit them more off centre, and that means a decrease in life span. Have a word.

    Matt

(ps sent a PM that you aint seen again )

I did not explain very well.
the string tension has been left for me to decide on.So i thought i would get a few answers from some of you guys first , before I restring the racket.
I have never used BG85 or strung rackets in it before.
    thanks for the info

Not sure if this is too late, I don't think stringing at high tension should be a problem for BG-85 string but perhaps the racquet itself can't handle it and also the player himself. 21lbs should be sufficient.

I have used those Aerotus racquets before. In fact, 3 of them. Broke two. Those racquets, as mentioned by the other forum users, broke easily. They were strung at 21lbs with regular Yonex strings (bulk bundle). Hope this helps.

bg85 does stand high tension, i have done 26+lbs on them before without any problems. lifespan is always inverse proportional to tension, and that applies to bg85 as well.

since it is left for you to decide, you should probably try to figure out what type of player is your client. as usual, lower tension (ie. 20-22lbs) for beginners and higher for more advance players (23-24lbs).

also Xuser has good point, aerotus 110 isn't the most durable racket.
