What kind of drills are available for improving smash? I like to know any drills I can practice off-court when I am not playing.

You can swing squash racket to improve the strength. It will also help you to smooth out your stroke.

I agree with Lefty. Swing a squash or tennis racquet to improve your smashing. I think. Never tried it before.:D :D :D

My friend who is in the US National team taught me to do it. They don't just use squash racket to practice smash. They use squash racket to hit drives as well. They say Tony Gunawan does it too so it must work, hahaha.

It's important though to understand the art of swinging. Racquet grip, imaginary contact point, racquet height, ect..........

Alternative to the squash racquet, you can use the normal racquet with cover. 5 minutes a day can work wonders for your stroke. Han Jian said so.

what my coach and I used to do, is for me to smash diagonally then he'll deflect the smash straight to the net and then I rush diagonally forward to play a netshot. Then he lifts straight so I can go back straight quickly to jump for a diagonal smash again. I think this method allows you to learn to smash under pressure.
