Its maybe stupid question, but do you have to calibrate the challanger 1 or not, the tension bar is allready there, and this brings me to another question.

There are 2 numbers on tension bar i guess one is if you have two weights and lower one is if you have 1 weight, is this bar accurate.

My third question is, do you put the weight to the top of the number lets say 10 kg or on the bottom of the number, so that the weight is directly reaching the number.(i hope you understand my question).

i dont have tension meter so should i get one?

    Thank you for replay?

    1. No, drop weight machines don't have to be calibrated. Although there might be a slight change over a few years if a lot of friction buids up in the mechanism.
    2. Yes that's correct, 2 numbers for when using 1 or 2 weights.
    3. You put the weight on so if behind the machine, the left hand side of the weight is at the mark. If the bar is resting on a table then the weight is below the mark.

According to my meter, my machine under-reads by about 0.5lb. So 10kg is about 22.5lb.

than you for replay, but didnt totaly get the 3rd point.

If the rod is pointing upwards than the weight has to be above number of kilos lets say 10, than the tension is 10kg right?

Yeah, if you have it pointing towards the ceiling, then the weight will be just above the mark

Surely calculating/measuring how accurate it is, would be useful ?

maybe if you know someone who fishes and has accurate fishing scales you could borrow them

or bite the bullet and buy one online

this will allow you to guarantee accurate tensions.
