For us medium high to high tension users (especially with the newer slightly more fragile framed Armortecs), Yonex is releasing a new long style replacement grommet which fits in the bottom part of the frame to tackle and protect the frame from the string dig-ins we are all so afraid of, as I have found out when surfing (from bbs.at700.com actually):

For the AC416L series, it contains 6 strips for 3 rackets.

So what is the minimum tension that would require the use of these grommets?

So you are saying we should all change over to these grommets regardless of current string / tension setup.

That tells me my AT900T has a flaw in its initial design in terms of tension load? Currrently I have it strung with NBG-98 @ 24lbs. If that's the general consensus then I will buy them. Better safe than sorry I guess.

I want to get these grommets. Does anywhere else sales it beside www.at700.com? Can't read Chinese so it makes it kind of difficult.

    who said that?

its your choice whether to put them on your racket or not. some people string at very high tensions, which puts their racket at risk. this is designed to help them. i am sure many will continue to string at tier tensions without this tool.

It's really a choice if one wants to put the grommet strips on or not. In some cases it will address users who notice the string digging into the frames.

To me, looks kind of cool, I'll definately get some for myself even thou my rackets do not exhibit this problem, but they probably will come in handy.

I think these are an excellent idea regardless of whether you have an AT series racket with this problem or not. Not sure if it will work on other series or other racket brands but for the increase in weight of a couple of grams and the cost I think it's a no brainer. Now if I could just order them from someone in english....

this may be a stupid question.. are these replace-able for the mp99 itself.. just wondering just in case my 99's grommet dies on me.

and can you use the mp 99 grommet on the at900t and such? will it fit?
