dunno about that place. There's a decent sports shop upstairs in MBK, they have a pretty good selection. I bought a Zslash in Pattaya for 5600 bahts. It was on sale , reduced from 7000 some, but other people offered me the same racquet for rounghly the same, so that appears to be the going price for that racquet in Thailand. If you get to Pattaya, the sports shop in Big C has strings on sale.

If you want to buy YONEX rac ,you go to national stadium is right.
The shops there sale YONEX rac cheaper than others.
But bad news for NS7700 may be it out of stock.
2 years ago I bought it for 4300 bath.
About NS4500 it will be around 2400-2700 bath.
    Go and get there.Good luck.

Last time i checked NS 4500 is around 2300-2500 baht. But this was a while ago. NS 7700 is not sold there as the importer does not have business with the shop. Good luck.

Most things are cheaper in Thailand, my Z Slash cost me the equivalent of around 130 euros there, they cost 200+ here. And at the time I didn't know about the shops near the stadium, where I believe it would be even cheaper.

I'm working on getting a 'retirement' visa to live in Thailand semi permanamently. Pattaya suits me fine, I want to rent and eventually buy an apartment there.

There's nothing wrong with the racquets, many people on here seem to prefer 'Japan' marked racquets, but Yonex say there is no difference between the racquets that are sent to one country or another.

Probably they are cheaper in Thailand because a shop's operating costs are lower there, profit margins are lower, and transport costs are cheaper due to the proximity with Japan.

So i went looking and managed to get AT900p 4u for 5000THB :D

Serials all check out with guys from that other thread (you all know which)

My only problem is they Refused to string it beyond 24lbs as that the limit Yonex specified even after making it clear i understood that it would void my warrenty they still wouldnt string at 27lbs for me :(

on another note, Strings are cheaper here to :D

jaiyen, take it to the Sports shop in MBK. The guy there, who does a good job, will string it for free (or sometimes 50 bahts, depends on the kind of mood he's in I think) if you buy string there.

In fact I think they do it for free unless you do the dumb thing I did and ask 'and how much for putting the string on the racquet?' I've had two racquets restrung there, the first time he didn't charge me, second time he thought about it and said '50 bahts?', like he was expecting me to haggle over the price.

Incidentally, I dunno where you're staying in BKK but I recomend the D & D Inn on Khaosan Road. Its around 700 for a good room, safe and clean, free buffet breakfast and a beautiful pool on the roof.

You might want to check the Yonex store in the Central World Plaza Mall, the Super Sports store in the same mall, the sporting goods department at the Siam Paragon Mall as well as the shops near National Stadium.

There's a lot of sales lately around Bangkok and you might be able to get a good price at one of the other stores. The Yonex store has a good selection and usually a big supply of racquets on hand.

The Yonex store has a two-tiered pricing system, one price for Thai Nationals with an inexpensive memebership card and about a 20-25% higher price for foreigners. Although I am a Thai resident, I'm not Thai and they wouldn't sell me a membership card. I was able to get the Thai price though, when I offered to pay in cash. They also included the strings and the stringing. This was a couple of years ago for an AT700LTD, and I think I paid around 4200 Baht, a very good price.

I also recently bought a Victor SW33P at Siam Paragon, they gave me a 30% discount and I only paid a little less than 3,000 Baht. The strings were another 200 Baht and no charge for the stringing. Another very good deal.

All of these stores, including the ones near National Stadium are within a couple of kilometers from each other. You might want to have a quick look at each store before you buy.
