One of the ads on this site is about a training camp with Taufik and the Indonesian olympic team as coaches. I'm considering sending my son to one, it's rather expensive, so I'm asking if anyone here has been to one and was it worth the money?
i also read something about this before the summer of 2009. if i remember correctly, you pay around 3000$ just for 1 week of training, nothing supplied, no hotel/food/anything else. the indonesian team trains you personally in a group with others including taufik training, as most of you already know the indonesian population does speak a fair amount of engliish

It is not US$ 3000 per week..hariawan Hong is more likely to be the coach...many overseas players have been training there for last 8 months.... Alamsyah...Joko riyadi..some of them are training there on daily basis..... I believe the accomodation is owned by Hariawan Hong One of Mexican's player,Andre Lopez has been training with them and he will be back this April ( if I am not wrong)
I've been quoted a price of 1230 euros, which I believe is for the full month. It's not outrageously expensive, but it's not cheap either. I want to know if its value for money. My son is 18 and plays very well, he's in the national league here and just become a senior. He's passed from being classed D4 to D2, which is excellent for his first year as a senior. I don't mind spending the money if the camp is really worth it.
You should send him there and tell us if its worth it instead I doubt many of us can comment on that...
If you need info..you can PM me.. TH camp charges US$ 1500 per month, accomodation is included or US$ 50 a day.. Meals: US$ 7.5 ( 3 meals) and laundry: US$ 25 per month... It is cheap as the accomodation is included...
Did that amount include food and accomodation? I have been looking for training in China, and its coming out at that price for the training only.
It includes accomodation, but not food. I don't know Indonesia, I've never been there, but i believe food is cheap there like in Thailand. In Thailand you can get a meal for less than 1 euro.
Its surely worth it, I would send my son too. The only problem is he's still 4 yrs old, so i have to wait very long to decide hehehe..
for all of you here, there is another similar thread which maybe of interest to you all! http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80183 enjoy..
Hoping to get to this camp in june time... only for a week though and hopefully stay for the indonesian open as well.
