Might also have country code TW/HK/CH as well (and maybe JP, but prices for JP rackets will be higher, as most of you know)

And price has to be reasonable *ahem* (looks at zero) :p

prices in Asia are close to 50% less than the price here in the states. For any models, if you can sell around 25% less or even lower, I am sure that's reasonable enough for the buyers and also for your friend to make a profit.

Well u still gotta look at the exra cost my friend has to pay if the customs look thru the luggage and find multiple brand new badminton rackets(they do that quite often if you come in and out too much) and also the price he's purchasing it in Asia for(he was also suggesting the cost of plane tickets but i almost kicked his @$$ for him saying that :p)

I mean if the order amount is high then it's no problem, but if it's only a few rackets at a time then there's not much profit to be made

    Just a thought

    Oops, sorry.
I forgot that your friend is trying to earn a living. I thought he would be nice enough to help out fellow badminton lovers.....:p

But all racquets are SP right? Can he find some non-SP racquets though? Other than JP because I don't think I can afford it....haha

I personally don't think it would be very profitable considering that your friend has to travel back and forth did you consider just getting the equipment shipped directly from asia? If you travel back and forth there is only so many racquets you can bring and you'll still have to pay customs and you also have to pay extra for extra luggage when you go through customs :). Tell your friend try to look into getting it shipped over :).

    Cheers,
    Nick

Well I dont know how he's gonna do it, he might either order it and hav it shipped over or get relatives/friends etc to bring them over when they come. I'm jus responsible for getting customers and making deliveries that are around the region I live in(or comm centers that I drop-in to play at ;))

i'm not sure if i really understand this thread...

is your friend travelling to asia mainly to pick up racquets and bring them back for sale here? or is it that he travels frequently back to asia, and each time brings back some racquets so that he resells them here? i mean unless the quantities are large, the selling of racquets won't even cover airfaire or expenses. so it really isn't a business. a business is a sustainable supply.

btw: if the racquets are undeclared, and customs do happen to search and find them, it's may not just be an extra cost, he could lost the racquets, pay a hefty fine, or even be prosecuted if they look up his history and feel there is justification. This is no way to build a business, unless the business is smuggling.

He's got relatives that come here often, so they can bring rackets over, all he has to do is order the rackets and hav them sent to his relative's place or he might just do as zero says "hav them shipped over"

I dont know how he does this, I guess they will be declared ba~~

having relatives that will do that for you is really nice. just don't forget that there's costs for them as well, such as picking up and handling, usually these are forgotten, but since if it's family it's not too much troulbe. Just buy them some goodies once in a while when you visit them...:D

training at guildford for the past two saturdays had been cancelled because of basketball tournament and a craft fair. it'll be back up next week, but most of us are at the coquitlam tournament next weekend.
