    Hi Everyone
What is the real reason behind the China National Team changing from the no history Li Ning company from Yonex

Today I went to a tournament and the Yonex Rep was there I was thinking of getting a Li Ning Racket, I started talking to him about it and he said that the reason for the China National Team changing to Li Ning was because Li Ning is owned by the china government and they pressured the Chinese National Team to change to Li Ning and also because Yonex is Japanese.

I am very confused can anyone elaborate one that?

If anyone thinks there's no politics involved in business is a bit deluded.

I'm not talking badminton clothes while playing badminton.

There's a limit to national pride, especially if you don't actually live in the country of your ancestors. I'm Korean living in Canada and I will cheer for both countries at the olympics but I care more about how Canada does than Korea. I've lived here since I was three, my national pride is here, not a country that I've only visited twice. As for racial pride... why?

Wow, you need to calm down.. show me how my statement "disses" china...

I never said anything negative about China, just asked a simple question.

National Pride Vs. Racial Pride? There's actually different chinese even in China, so supporting China would be more of National Pride than Racial

Ok... I can understand that but the last part of the sentence seems to indicate that you support China because they win more than anything else.

Do I support Korean badminton players over others? Sure, I do, since there are really no Canadian players on the world stage. If there were then I'd love to cheer them on as well.

To be honest though, I just love badminton, watching badminton and playing badminton. It doesn't matter what you wear, what racket you use or who wins.

Why get so worked up over who supports who? It's people's choice.

Btw, aren't we talking about LN here?

if you guys see the way LN splashes out on their marketing, especially in asia, they really mean business in badminton market share.

    they just sign a 8 million sponsorship with singapore's team/title rights...etc

so i am quite sure it is just business for the china team, whoever pays more gets the deal...

anyway, i think the pros can play with any decent racquet, irregardless of brand

    just my 2cts :D
