How does a badminton player develop and refine the forehand drive

Let me suggest a classic two-player drill:

    Players: A and B. Half-court drill.

Player A stands just in front of the short service line (close to the net).

Player B (on the other side of the net) stands on the base line.

Player B plays drives straight at player A, hard, straight drives, as close to the net tape as possible.

Player A returns by driving the shuttle straight back at B. B drives back at A again... And so on...

Maintain a high tempo. Concentrate on playing only forehands, only backhands, or both intermixed if you so please. Change positions every 5 minutes or so.

Remember to relax and use mainly your forearm and wrist. If you don't use proper wrist/forearm technique, you won't be able to do this drill at a high speed...

Wrist. The more you get to the net, the smaller movement you should be.
